I had interviews with World and CAL. If I had gotten a job offer from either, I'd not be here whining about the career. Had I not got on at UPS, I had a solid shot at America West (would have been furloughed for a bit). Had I got on there, I'd not be here whining about the career.

To each his own. People's whine levels vary. There are guys making 40K flying 135 air ambulance that find the job worth sticking with. I can honestly say, if that had been me, I'd still be happy with the career and not looking to leave. To each his own....

The figures you see under each respective state represent after tax take home pay. I am also on the board at the facility where I practice, so I know EXACTLY what these nurses make each week.

There are thousands of others. Do your homework son, before you open your mouth and get embarrased

Umm...you gave us a link to a site for TRAVELING nurses. We travel all the time and you see what we think about commuting. How many people do you think would love to move every couple of years? Now think about people (pilots) who have made the decision to either commute or move and are unhappy. Do you really believe any of them would be happy to be a traveling nurse? Get a grip man!

You can be a travel/agency nurse/p.t./o.t./r.t. in the same city you live in and not have to move anywhere.

You know NOTHING of which you speak, and I for one have no interest in educating someone like you-but for the many who have p.m.'d me, keep them coming fellas-I will help in any way I can.

I give you credit DE727 you did stick it out. You got rejected by 2 carriers and still hung in there? But your a little overconfident about getting picked up at America West(that probably would've been your 3rd rejection). From the sounds of it you went to UPS when it wasn't the hottest job on the market so it actually wasn't your timing why you got into UPS. Sounds like you had ALOT of luck, more than you'll ever admit to?

Enjoy your $308K and 3 days of flying(probably a bunch of grateful FO's out there that you only fly that much) and putting people down. Regardless of whatever anyone thinks about staying or leaving this career, man your ego is large! Too bad all that big money your making can't buy a personality, HAHAHA...

Nahhh. Very laid back interview process and I had several friends there.

Ohhh....that's just plain mean spirited. I only mentioned the pay in direct response to a challenge. Review the thread. Wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise. That said, I think it's good for folks to see the top end. Gives them something to shoot for in spite of much of the doom and gloom at this forum. I don't mean to come across with a big ego. If you met me in real life, you'd not believe it was DE....

That's funny!

I, too, thought it'd be a LLLLLLOOOOOONNNNNGGGG month flying with this guy. Luckily, the last p.o.s. "airline" that I flew for had a "no fly with" option on the monthly bid.

Naw, 30 days of flying is about my average for a whole year. You'd have loved it....

How many MD's work 100 hours a year?

TonyMontana 07-15-2008 10:17 PM

Can't say--but

I do 2 weeks a month.

de727ups 07-15-2008 10:23 PM

Dang. Sounds like hard work to me.
