Sky...you will never fly professionally again....at least not in a job that requires you to travel. It seems you have made it clear that the time away from home didnt sit well with you. Even in those so called golden days you speak of guys and gals were gone more than just a few days.....
Good Luck.... and I think we all know you feel it WASNT the business for you... glad you had the choice to make. Take care. |
I wouldn't say that

Good Luck.... and I think we all know you feel it WASNT the business for you... glad you had the choice to make. Take care. After my last employer shut down I could have abandoned my young pregnant wife and babies to go to training at a new airline. I could have commuted to a 20K per year job and been home perhaps 6 to 8 days a month. However, I chose to be a husband father instead. It is not my fault. After 20 years of dedicated effort I still had no value to the industry. Aviation is a poor profession that forces you to sell yourself cheap and make unholy sacrifices at times in order to stay in the saddle. You have mentioned that you could not pursue aviation unless your spouse had a good job. Imagine trying to completely support a family on what you made at RAH. I loved the job. It did not love me. I was at a party this weekend and I had to listen to this 40 yr old Bimbo with huge fake breasts who couldn't put a sentence together tell me how she can barely live on her $200,000.00/a year salary (medical sales). I wanted to shoot myself in the face knowing that this prostitute made that much........... But hey she makes a lot of money and even she is not happy ;) |

Thank you for your kind words. I have found what I was looking for. I am home with my family right where I need to be. I still hope one day to make it to Alaska Airlines even if it were for just a little while. Your Friend, Skyhigh Sky, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I respect you for putting your dreams aside to support your family. It's extremely admirable, and it's fantastic that your second life has worked out for you and your family. This career can be extremely rewarding, and twice as cruel. I've had a very good run so far. While hard work has had something to do with it, luck and timing played a huge role in where I'm at today. I think people get venomous on here because they don't like to have their dreams crushed, but you've already lived that reality and they don't understand it. I hope I never do, but everyday I remind myself that the reality exists, whether I like it or not. Good Luck to you in all your future endeavors. |
Thank You
