I was really trying to help YOU-Prozac, or Paxil-(a selective seratonin reuptake inhibitor) will help with your flights of ideas and mood range that you have displayed here. "Shunned into a sad corner"? The "corner" that I am in is THE FURTHEST from sad that a human being can possibly get!

As I understand it-this "forum" is pilots helping pilots-am I right? That being said, what better way to help a buddy out than by pointing out ALTERNATIVES to a life of poverty?

There seem to be 1 or 2 red lights illuminated on your overhead panel, you ,might seek some professional help.

Failure
 

What does failure mean? I suppose to some I failed at an aviation career. To some that could be considered a true statement. However I won at everything else. What does this life mean to you? I assume that most of us here were raised in a middle class nuclear family.

My goal was to someday support my own family to a similar degree. I would much rather fail a silly childhood obsession than to blow the big picture. If flying a plane is really all that to you then do it. Some of us want to have a real life and if that makes me a failure as a pilot then so be it.

I was there for 20 years. Went to college bought all my own ratings and licenses. Suffered through years as a CFI, charter pilot and airline pilot only to still be living like an impoverished college kid in my 30's.

It took me deciding to fail my career dreams before my real life got started. And thank God for that !!! It is becoming very difficult to support a full life as a pilot.

Hey Skyhigh, [you almost made me call you a name, it's true, sad people first bring you down to their level, and then they try to beat you with all their experience in being sad], you are really barking up the wrong tree. The fact that you can't read is only a small part of your misery. You will never see me work for 24K. I am not complaining, in fact I despise complainers and sad bags like you. I believe you are a bit out of touch with reality, sitting in some trailer, hoping that some day, someone that pooped on your plate will give you a call and offer you the lousy job back you miss so heavily.
So, before you get more involved in my "jobsearch" make sure to realize that I am in a different position than you. Financially and mentally. It's not my fault that the people that got you out of the cockpit where your own coworkers. It sucks, I agree!

Sky, Im making over 50K as a 2nd yr F/O, if My time in the 121 world was as miserable as you say yours was, Id probably hang up the David Clarks too

Tony and Sky I don't understand why these guys get so emotional over the fact that you decided to have a life. Sounds like success to me. To each their own I guess.

Career C when you get your dream job be sure to take a look at your per/diem $. That my friend is how much time you spent at work for the month or bid. 300 hrs is no big deal when you are single, it becomes alot more when you have a fam. I know there is always such and such person who never works blah blah blah.......... we've all heard the line, Individuals like that are few and far between.
