Thanks, Scott Olmos did my ride (incredibly nice guy) and from what I've heard the entire flight check is completely revamped. It was almost a 3 hour flight....yes you read that correctly 3 HOURS. And that's how it's been for a few other guys I've spoken to who have recently taken it. No cake walk but if you have decent IFR skills and can fly to commercial pts standards it shouldn't be an issue. Hoping to hear something within the next few days!
3 Hrs? WTF?!? Were they giving you a Concorde type ride? What exactly did you do in a Seminole for 3 hrs? When we go for recurrent down there it's usually like 1.5.

Mine was almost 3 hours as well. Makes for a long, long day. Between the waiting around and oral and flight it was about 6 or 7 hours.

So what's the deal with pilots having to take checkrides in the Seminole and 737 when mechanics and flight attendants get hired without a "practical evaluation" into the same GS12 graded positions? I know it's the fed government, but it seems like pilots should start higher if they're held to a higher standard.

All but one of the 1825 postings are internal only. Only one is public and that's for Queens, NY.
Any idea when I should start seeing more public openings? I have a ASI buddy who said I can either wait for their office or go to another nearby and transfer over.
