Because you went to an aviation university. Even at today's inflated rates (I paid about 50 or 60 bucks an hour in a 150 and 152 for most of my time), that is about twice the cost of flight training at an FBO and going to an in state university.

Hell no!!!!!!!!!! lol. majoring in aviation at an expensive aviation school sounds like a nightmare over the long run. I like aviation a lot but am not looking at it as a career right now. I'm very debt-averse...if I was going for it, the only way I would choose to do it (minus military for those who are qualified) would be to work and pay as I went along...would take a while, but anything else sounds like a bad idea. But I wouldn't really know. Just read enough debt nightmares on this board.

I certainly hope so - because it is either that or you are developing an unhealthy attachment to me too

Time to pull the pants up and contribute something factual to the discussion or continue to hang out on the sidelines and watch the real game being played before your eyes.

I remember flying with an FO who had gone to ERAU and then did the Gulfstream program. He was at around 150k in debt. I couldn't believe it.
A fool and their money are soon to part... and that is downright foolish to spend that much money when you get college and flight training for half that. The fact is that aviation can be a good investment if you don't buy the hype of the big training programs.
I had friends that did aviation programs and graduated with major debt and just barely a CFI rating... On the other hand, I graduated college having already made the money back that was spent on flight training with 1500 hours and 300 multi-engine. (I instructed and flew corporate my junior and senior year)

I don't have the slightest idea where you would come up with that idea except to say that you are trying to be snide and are still smarting from your violation of the TOS in the other thread and this is your way of getting back.
