Vacation bidding question for legacy carriers
I'm curious how the US legacy carriers bid vacation. Do you bid one week per round from top of the list to bottom before bidding the second week in round two? Or do you get to bid it all at once in seniority order. In other words, can the number one guy bid all (however many weeks he has) the most popular weeks before the next guy down get his turn? If so, is it only consecutive weeks (say all of July into August) or can they be spread out throughout the year (say July 4th AND Christmas AND spring break)? Afterward, can you trade however you want or are there restrictions? Starting in United category, hoping others from other airlines see it here too.
I've looked a bit to try to find the relevant information in online contract comparisons, but I thought it might be easier to simply ask. Thanks for any clear information on each legacy airline you all might be able to provide.

AA - round 1 - you bid as many weeks (1-4) as you wish for one vacation.
Round two you bid for your second vacation with your remaining weeks (1-3 weeks)
There are rds 3-5. There are few bids so the rounds are run at the same time.
Summer and Christmas vacations typical go to the top 20% in a bid status. Vacation bidding changed this year so this year's results might not be representative of future years as guys learn the new system better.

At WN you can either bid 1 week per round (5 rounds) or you can bid all your weeks at once as a block. For example if you have 4 weeks of vacation you could bid the month of July a a block. If you are awarded a block of vacation once the bidding rounds are completed you can trade individual weeks of that block with other pilots.
