Keep Age 60
#21
Mega-stagnation while all the CA's who lost all their $$ investing in a car wash franchise or tweaky mining ventures tried to recoup some small portion of it.
I still plan on going at 60 or earlier because I invested early, and prudently, in my career.

You do realize the 78-79 guys at ual had their a plan taken or given away, yes I realize that most are not as smart and as great at investing like yourself foreverfo, but some of this came down to luck and timing and yes standing up for our profession along the way.

syd, obviously there are plenty of guys I empathize with. Multiple furloughs, bankruptcy, stagnation, horrendous health issues, etc.
But along with those come the majority... the guy with four divorces, the guy who thinks he deserves to own and fly a warbird or a yacht or a vacation home in Barbados. The greedy. $2 million is not enough, he wants $3 million.
And yes, the guy who made outrageous investment decisions. Or none at all.
Too bad we can't interview each guy at 60 and say "You deserve 5 more years, but you don't"

Yup, and there's a Song (and a great band!) for that!
"They'll never care about you 'cause you're old and in the way..."
If you like bluegrass music and haven't heard this album yet, here it is, in full, you can skip ahead to 9:05 to hear the song, "Old and in the Way".

In my freshman year of college I met my first Dead Head, he turned me on to this album and it's still one of my favorites. I love Vassar Clements on the fiddle!

Nobody I know at Delta has any of that stuff anymore! Hell, I'm a 777 Captain with 4 kids in college, I can't afford to pay... attention!
My retirement plan consists of consuming a bottle of Jack and then taking a fast ride on a Harley. As long as it's quick and painless.

Instead of a decision board to determine who goes to the glue factory when, we should convene a decision board to determine who needs your money more than you do. Then, once all the wealth is distributed evenly, our world will enter a new age of peace and prosperity.

I thought we already had that, I think it's called the US Tax Code, along with the Alternative Minimum Tax, just in case you thought you were going to keep that last raise!

And the only way we will ever have peace in this world is when all the wealth is distributed evenly. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
