Shouldn’t be an issue in DEN or SLC given the available runways there.

Can you elaborate on the A220 performance problems? The plane looks awesome. I’d hate it to be troubled.
It’s dispatch reliability is currently at 95%. All Delta’s other fleets are above 99%. CEO has talked about the need for AB to get it above 99% fast.

Good thing Moxy will get it after the growing pains/kinks are worked out? Forever the optimist over here, lol. The 220 is poised to be quite the cost effective machine.

I heard we are having FADEC problems, mostly. Nothing too serious. I remember when the E-145 was launched. I didn’t check out on the E-145 until the aircraft was around a year or two, but that thing had all kinds of FADEC problems.

I lost an engine on final into DCA. I assumed it was a FADEC auto shut down, but later found out a bearing had failed. My engine actually ate itself, with 32 total hours on it. That was my last flight at Mesa. I was late to my retirement party filling out paperwork.

Well Delta basically stole those planes so they can deal with the 95%, that’s one of the reasons you get such a deal on price in the beginning.

No they can’t deal with that. Delta is generating a revenue premium by producing great ontime and flight completion stats. Many of our corporate contracts get a rebate if we don’t meet promised numbers. The extension of the leases on the 717’s to 2030 was due in part to a lack of confidence in the A220. They were not willing to put all their 100 seat eggs in one basket. This aircraft entered commercial service over 3 years ago. The kinks should be worked out.

As they say in the military, "Never fly (bid) the A model of anything."

Just glad you guys are getting it all worked out so b6 can come in when it’s running good. Instead of another emb180 disaster.

From the JetCareer's forum:

"Hiring has begun. Didn't sound like they're looking for line pilots at this point, mostly management, and those to help start the airline. Could be wrong on that as it's very early still. Been swapping emails with one of the executives."

A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to speak with David Neeleman in the PHX airport as we both were waiting for delayed inbound aircraft. He was great to talk with, and surprisingly open. I'll run through some highlights he was willing to share to an OAL pilot who just happened to recognize him.

* pay will be regional +20% + profit sharing
* using 195's to launch next summer ish 50% scheduled/50% charter
*possibly home basing to begin with 14/14 schedules
* a lot of seasonal routes with the A220, as the flexibility of the aircraft was the major selling point (ability to swap class configurations quickly)
* all of the reservations will be done through a virtual office
*the only thing he would say about a possible crew base was he had a an idea of a really amazing place he thought crews would love (not SLC, I asked as he mentioned some portions of the company being based there)

I'm not sure how much if any of this is new info to those of you interested, but figured I'd share.
