Half of your pilots will always be FO’s.

They advertise that and tell you there are openings but it isn’t true. It goes senior and even though there should be, or could be more openings, they use people on Reserve to cover charter trips. It has been a bone of contention lately as it has been said the company is hiding positions on purpose. Home based gets basically a week on a week off. Reserves get twelve days off a month PLUS 5 hours less pay. A lot were hired on the presumption they’d be home based and are finding a new reality when they actually join. So, you join thinking you won’t have to commute but find out you will AND, will be on Reserve with tough commuting options to odd bases. Unless you live in base, it’s not a good job for your personal life and even then.
You can raise the pay and offer stock but you cannot keep misleading people with poor work rules and say every week “We’re working on it”! No respect for seniority either as there are no protections. They were not suppose to hire any more A220 DECs so again, pay becomes an issue as senior people will make less than junior people AND this includes stocks and the stock trigger.
Stocks are only triggered after you finish training/ IOE. Right now it’s taking about 6 months.
Summer is coming and they are not ready. They really cannot afford another meltdown. They need to either stop or slow the expansion until they have the resources, AND THE PROPER RESOURCES, in place. They tried to start and grow the airline on the cheap, in every aspect, but it has come back to bite them. They were/are trying to emulate Allegiant and it’s not working AT ALL.
I really wish they’d listen but they are not.

They're not listening because you're just complaining, there's nothing constructive. It's not their fault your seniority can't hold charter. Even for those that can hold it, they don't owe anyone a charter spot, things change. It's a startup. You're complaining about having to commute, when it's pretty obvious there's a really high chance you'd have to commute since the airline that hires you only has bases in small cities. If they can't find people that can upgrade into the A220 then they'll hire DECs. Yea that's terrible for those junior but they don't have the time to upgrade. It's called a seniority system, sometimes junior pilots make more than senior FOs because they can upgrade. Now you've found a way to complain about stock awards when it was literally just announced yesterday with no other info. Not sure what they must have "promised" you in your interview but if you don't like it so much, just leave and let others that really want to be here have a shot.

With the new rates Breeze is now a player for me. Can anyone speak to a normal months schedule on the 190, preferably ORF? How about the 220? Driving to work for day trips seems very appealing on the 190 side. What is a normal day trip? What is the training footprint for DEC already typed? Will ORF as a base last? How is reserve for someone living local? What is 200 shares of stock going to be worth? Doesn’t seem like a big deal.

A220 isn't currently based in ORF but those lines are typically 18-20 off with mostly 2 days but starting to get more of a mix of trips.
They just announced a home basing option being offered for the 220, blocks of 5 days off in a row with hotels and travel to and from the duty paid for by the company. No plans of getting rid of ORF base.
The stock is worth roughly $108,000 as of now. Hard to say what it will be at the time of IPO but shouldn't be any less than that. Blackrock (largest investor in Breeze) has an average rate of return of about 14% on their investments. If this investment performs at the average rate, the pilot shares would be worth about $160,000 at the time of IPO if it happens in 2 years as estimated.

For April, ORF lineholders had between 19-21 days off with single day trips (mostly 3 or 4 leg days). All reserves at Breeze get 12 off.

for those of you who are now interested, go back a few pages in this thread and do a little research. A lot of your questions have been answered multiple times.
The problem I have with this post is that, a lot is left to interpretation. When you read “ ORF lineholders had between 19-21 days off with single day trips“ this place seems fantastic. Wow everyone gets so much time off. But the reality is that there was 3 lines of flying in ORF for April, 3. The other 3 guys got res at 12 days. If you live in ORF, who cares. Sit reserve at home. Unless you want to upgrade of course. In that case you HAVE to fly and it may not be an option. Can you hold ORF out of training ? Probably, but unless you’re a DEC or really close to upgrade mins, you better get comfortable with the FO rates. There’s a reason breeze only bumped Capt pay. They need captains. They’re hiring CFI’s who won’t be able to upgrade for years. Specially if they get thrown into the charter program. Charter is the ONLY commutable flying in this company but it will take you a very lonnnnnng time to upgrade because you don’t fly a lot and when you do, half your flights are under part 91 which doesnt count towards upgrade. so again, get comfortable with the FO rates.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. If you live in base and you’re on the Ejet as a Capt; life is amazing. I’m home every night with my family, I make descent coin and the flying is super easy. If you commute, regardless which plane you are in, it is miserable. Just ask any A220 driver at your local airport

BlueJuice you’ve been here all of what? 6 months, If that ? Upgrade at breeze will take twice as long as a regional or another LCC. Go ask the charter guys, when they’re expected to upgrade since they can’t even consolidate after training.
Before you tell me to leave, I’ll tell you that I like it here. And I’m staying until the wheels fall off but let’s not be disingenuous and paint this pretty little picture for the Internet. Tell it like it is. And by the way, I think they’re running out of their “this is a start” excuse for things being rough. Our Management has 100’s of years of experience and the pilot group has been upfront about our issues the entire time. Management only listens when ppl don’t show up, like they didn’t at the last 2 recruiting events.

can someone explain to me how 200 shares of stock will be worth $100k +? That’s a pretty big IPO. Granted I’m not smart on what they have in the works.
also any info on training pipeline for DECs that are already 190 typed?
