10 years? You yourself made the claim it happened right during the AT acquisition. Shouldn’t be that difficult with that time frame. You make an assinine statement, back it up.

Congrats, you all managed to fly 5 hours over the water without screwing it up yet. Must be the high tech ETOPS planning room ya' all have.

Looks like we found bitter pilot syndrome. Someone needs a drink. Just deal with what you need to deal with and you’ll be happier.

LAX, DEN, ATL, just to name a few.

Pilot's d-bag personalities, egos, and hubris pontificating on things that are so far above their pay grade knows no bounds.......
Why do you think this is a pilot thing. Showing your ignorance right now. The pilots didn’t hang this crap up and btw it was already removed. Companies do things that always don’t make sense but blaming the pilots who give many of JS to fellow pilots with 4000 flights a day is just plane idiotic. Grow up

Yet you said not one single SWA pilot ever claimed they’d own ATL. You’ve been at SWA since the AT merge and flew with so many pilots to make that claim seem so certain, right?

You obviously couldn’t read/comprehend the context of the post of which I replied, did you?

Go back and read goggles, then read where I responded to him.

And when you’re done with that, “grow up”.

I was thinking the same thing. He missed the point by a mile.

I am so bummed I missed the golden generation of pilots when pilots could take a joke, laugh at each other and at themselves and genuinely not sweat the minutia. This thread alone is proof-positive of what a bunch of sensitive new-age pansies we have occupying flight decks today. Offended over a friggin wallmounted captioned fish caricature??!! GMAFB!

I've worked on the receiving end of similar things and always found them to be inspiring to do what we do better. But noooo... today, everyone loses their sh*t because someone hurt their feewings. Simply pathetic.

Go to work, do the best job you can, support your fellow pilots, your union, collect the paycheck, go home and ENJOY LIFE!

I’ll be the first to admit that there is a slight arrogance in the pilot group. I’ve tried to understand why it exists, and I can only attribute it to the fact that they were the underdog for so long pre 9/11. Always trailing the legacies in pay, work rules, and retirement. Many of the pilots hired early on were there because they were not successful in getting hired by the legacies. All of the sudden post 9/11 the payrates were on par with the other carriers, but the retirement still lagged. Always playing catch up.. almost wanting to prove that they deserved to be included as one of the big 4. A little jealousy that we don’t have the heavy metal or long haul flying maybe?

I say this as someone who has worked at a few other majors and I truly do love SWA as much or more than those others, but there is a quirky culture here.

So with that in mind, I wouldn’t take the artwork seriously. It’s meaningless fun. They’re trying to rally the troops to believe that this is some big battle. Usually management tries to play the underdog card, and say that they need the “warriors” to work harder/cheaper to compete. So I’m guessing this is just a little management bluster intended to stir up some esprit de’ corp.
