When the solution to all the "problems" relies on massive increases in taxes then it becomes political.

I find it amusing that you think the people on fox make pilots look like idiots when the savior on the left who gave us the green new deal wants to eliminate flying while costing tax payers over 50 TRILLION DOLLARS.

Then there is the cap and trade with carbon taxes which will add billions of dollars in taxes to our industry which will certainly put a much larger damper on it than any Tariff.

Pilots supporting this make pilots look like idiots.

The fact is anyone that doesn't at least question the validity of what the consensus these scientists have come up with is either an imbecile or ideologically blind. Given the fact that they have had to change the name of their science at least 3 times because it wasn't working out for them. From Global cooling which didn't pan out then it became global warming but with stable global temperatures over the last two decades that didn't pan out so now it is just a catch all of climate change which has been happening since the beginning of the earth.

With every one of their long term models being wrong and with their forecasts being widely inaccurate other wise we would all be underwater or frozen in ice depending on what time period you wanted to chose from.

If everyone believed what the consensus of scientists believed without question we would still think the earth is flat, smoking is not harmful, the universe isn't expanding, Mars has canals, blacks were inferior based on scientific racism. All of these were "scientific consensus" until they were proven wrong.

Then just google climate gate and you can see in their own emails what they think. Here is a little piece of one by Forbes: "Three themes are emerging from the newly released emails: (1) prominent scientists central to the global warming debate are taking measures to conceal rather than disseminate underlying data and discussions; (2) these scientists view global warming as a political “cause” rather than a balanced scientific inquiry and (3) many of these scientists frankly admit to each other that much of the science is weak and dependent on deliberate manipulation of facts and data."

Please question everything especially when they are trying to reach into your wallet all the while having far larger carbon footprints than the average American.
