American IS a ULCC, with high costs and higher ticket prices.

In other words, it's the same shiddy product that just COSTS MORE.
There really is some truth in that.

A friend of mine is LGA based with AA and primarily flies the 1-1 transcons on the A320T. She relayed some of the pax who routinely fly the JFK-LAX and back transcons- an actor who starred in a popular tv comedy/CIA drama/wrote and directed a movie about aliens who have super sensitive hearing. A recently retired NFL QB, now TV analyst. A late night comedy show host. A tennis star. Just a few examples. I guess someone should tell them what a “shiddy” product AA has.

Now, if your point was that AA has “shiddy” management, or too many lazy, awful FAs, or disrespectful GAs (perhaps as a result of the aforementioned management)- absolutely true.

Don’t the FA’s and the GA’s make up like 75% of the “product” from the customer point of view?

Definitely more than the sideways glance into the cockpit to see a couple of white hairless shiny domes, and a "welcome on board, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride".

…they wouldn’t treat me so shiddy? IN FIRST CLASS, as a Titanium Medallion, or whatever it’s called?

So your starstruck friend doesn’t mind getting paid so little and treated so poorly?

Haha. Way to pick the unicorn scenario and act like it’s representative of the other 99.999% of traveling public.

If that's how you want to look at it then there's no difference between *any* of the passenger carriers. These kinds of discussions are all tiny dick syndrome anyway - pick the carrier based on the career you'd like to have. If you're hell bent on worrying about the experience for your passengers, go fly corporate.

Yeah, I don’t think that’s the case.

That’s dumb. I’m not “hell bent” on anything, and I don’t “worry” about the experience of the pax, but I do want them to be treated well by all of my coworkers. They pay the bills, I want them to come back and keep paying my bills. I don’t want them to be treated poorly by GA’s or FA’s (no matter what class of ticket they bought), because those two employee groups are the face of the company to passengers.

Saying that “shiddy” GAs and FAs don’t matter is incredibly stupid.

EDIT: would you not speak up if an FA on your crew was mistreating a pax in front of you?

Nobody is saying that it doesn't matter in a general sense, but this thread is about choosing an airline for work, not to just ride around in the back. Virgin America had a much, much better product than Delta - was that a reason to go work there?

Yeah, gotcha. I guess I fell prey to the great APC tradition of thread drift.

I wouldn’t choose an airline based on GAs or FAs, but I did actually consider all facets of the company when choosing where to go.
