Trans States, Compass and ExpressJet shutting down totals 2,255 pilots on the street per ALPA. 1,257 ALPA pilots are on furlough. 723 of those are at PSA.

Don't forget, a large number of US pilots work for foreign flying outfits. Most of them are back home again, indefinitely. Ex: pilots at the ME3 we're permanently laid off, even with a decade+ longevity. I realize it's not possible to track all of that, but know there's a lot more typed & current airline pilots looking for work here in the US than we've been counting. The flipside is also true, US pilots can't run to foreign jobs like past furloughs.

That seems exceptionally low for all the doom and gloom I am hearing in the news and on many of the pilot websites. although that number seems ironic for us Van Halen fans.

Though I was furloughed from a 121 training. At least I can frame my acceptance letter and hang it in my office with the caption "I touched greatness once".

From the ALPA Fastread:

The ExpressJet MEC, working in collaboration with the ALPA Communications Department, recently produced a tribute video for the more than 1,400 ExpressJet pilots...

Did the ME3 lay off all American expats (out of seniority)?

I have a friend who left a regional here for flyDubai, he’s still employed. He did say they cut people out of seniority order but he’s okay (so far).
