Been a big fan of the Zebra Surari 300 pens for a long time. Emulsion ink is pretty cool and the pens look premium without costing a lot.

Skilcraft “US Gov” retractable ballpoint pens. Love em. Not as large as standard pens, lighter. Definitely stronger too. They drop out of sight in the in the pen slot on a pilot shirt. Little thinner than the standard pen as well. In my efb/flight bag I can get two of these pens in the pen slots that usually only hold one. Refillable. Also, Skilcraft has been making them for 50+ years, and lots of the labor is from people with disabilities. Pens are also under military contract and have been since the 60’s. They write for a mile, litterally, and designed to withstand extreme temps. Pretty cool history behind the company and employees.

0.9mm BIC xtra strong mechanical pencil, in the solid pastel colors.

And suck it up buttercup, keep on using the hotel pens. Just wipe them down first or use it to stir your wild turkey.

Pens and sunglasses I don’t lose.

Routine bordering on crazy. My pen is in 2 places only, my hand while I’m using it and my pocket when I’m not. Never put it down to be left. Sunglasses case goes in the way of zipping up my flight case. When the flights done I can’t put away the iPad or zip my case unless I put away the sunglasses first.

Repeat x 14 years.

I’m the same. I wanted to have a legit non-hotel pin. I ended up buying a Tul pen. Came with black and blue cartridges. Has a nice weight. Think it was $15. That said, I already have a space pen, been using them for 25 years. My dad has cross pens that he’s had for ~50 years.

Any pen lovers out there? Not looking to spend $800 on a Montblanc. Needs to be small and able to write in the logbook well with triple pages.
Simple...get Bar Mitzvahed. Your guaranteed to receive a bunch of Cross Pen & Pencil sets (14 or 18 carat or silver) to match any uniform. Your supply will last longer than 20 years and you’ll even have enough to re-gift too.
