No kidding.
54 current senators are over 65
68 are over 60.
by demographic
7 are silent generation (age 79+)
66 are boomers (age 59-77)
24 are gen X (age 43-58)
3 are millennials (age 36-41)
id support age 67 in a heartbeat if it also applied to congress

You have reading comprehension issues like others. Maybe you should be tested for cognitive abilities?
FYI - I have just over 10 years till age 65. I support age 67 because it’s the right thing to do. One thing I can promise you, I’m way senior senior to you at United. After age 67 passes, I’ll be working on age 68, age 70 and no retirement age. Just like Australia, New Zealand and Canada have today.
I’ll be financially very ready to retire at age 65. But I gotta be honest, staying here and suppressing those like you, and working to do what’s right and keeping those like you infuriated invigorates me.

You have to use your lizard brain to understand Congressional motivation to pass bills.
They could care less about your feels either way. Left/Right...they only care about one thing...getting re-elected...it will be all PR...if the FAA reauthorization happens before their Christmas break..they will be on camera touting how they have protected the traveling public through the holidays...any Dem congressman who opposes 67 will be roasted by the right for backing Methuselah in the WH for 2024...I believe that was Grahams motivation over summer...daring Dems to address "too old to fly" but not "too old to have the key to the nukes"
My guess this is an easy PR win, non contentious, (well for their lizard brains anyway)...while kicking the can down the road with CRs for just about everything else...

You won't hear a word because this isn't high profile by any means.

I might suspect that they'd be more worried about bad optics, as opposed to seeking out good optics... if there's a big meltdown over the holidays, for any reason, political opponents might make hay out of that.
So trying to get the FAA done before about 20 Dec *might* seem like a good defensive move. Yes I know that passing the bill on 20 Dec will not impact holiday travel this year. But failure to pass the bill doesn't look good, if things go horribly wrong.
None of that has anything to do with age 65... almost nobody (who matters) even cares, it would just be along for the ride in the process.
But I still wouldn't hold your breath for 2023, seems more likely after the new year.

Yes, their motivations are not what might make sense to us.

Some pilots will work 2 years longer. Some won't.
All it does is push the huge retirement wave out by two years or less. May ease the immediate crises, but does not stop the massive retirement numbers this decade. Airlines will still need to hire massive amounts.
Think of slowing half way through a marathon for a brief break to a walk. You still have to get going, there is still half a marathon ahead of you.
