2nd year 747 FO guarantee with no premium pay is around 100k. So yeah, lots of OT and premium pay available in the last couple years but that could all change overnight.

Unbelievable. Only our guys think that they’re some kind of special breed flying to Hawaii.

My respect for some SWA guys went down after they started posting their obligatory “look at me I’m in Hawaii” pictures to FB. No one cares and you aren’t in junior high.

Narrowbody live in base

$78k wages

$~6500 per diem

$12k 401k

Around 300 block I think

Mix of line and reserve and trying to spend less time working on the road. For new guys planning financially, you will likely make plenty more than I did.

Also, another $300k or so from my hourly wage and shares in the contracting firm I work at and partially own. Although things have been good there, I am thinking of retiring and selling my shares and just flying. I live beneath my means like John Carr said and it is great advice. I could build seniority as an FO and pick a nice schedule that will work for me and my family and should be able to make enough money at the same time.

Merry Christmas

fun comparison, also live in base

UAL 1yr / 2nd yr *w/upgrade
No rsv, aggressive with premium pay

180k gross, 600 hrs
~14-15 days off a month

Airline survey man., No-one cares how much you made from selling stocks or semen on the side... just an observation.

Where does it say airline survey? All I see is “End of 2022 Salary Survey”

Nice Bobby. Sounds like you’re doing well. That’s one thing I really do like about being an airline pilot: the variety in schedules and desires. Some guys work hard and others take it really easy.
