7 days off a month? Is that voluntary?

What if they pick up premium in December? My 2022 close out paystub won’t be seen until January 15th.

If it’s not on your 2022 W2, it doesn’t count. Pay earned next month is on your 2023 W2.

December 16-31st will be paid to me on January 15th, 2023. However, it is earned, and added on my 2022 W2. Must be a difference of pay schedules. I’m two weeks behind at my airline, as I thought most of us were.

FXLAX 12-15-2022 08:28 PM

I still feel that the best way to compare across airlines is to take total compensation (pay, 401k match and company contributions including to HSA, per diem, etc) divide either by total block hours or days worked, which includes reserve days not used and paid sick days. This would give a better idea of not just compensation but also to QOL since it would take soft time into consideration.

Or nights away from home

The problem I see with that is that if you had a trip with one overnight, you actually worked on two days. Or if you only work day trips, then you had zero nights away from home. It’s mathematically absurd to divide anything by zero.

I think you're overthinking it. Individuals don't use accrual accounting unless they are running a fairly large business. Us regular folks pay income taxes based on which year we receive and/or lose our money. i.e cash accounting.

G4poor 12-15-2022 11:45 PM

Let’s make a new thread called “no one has their final paystub yet” or “I think the survey should be done this way” and move all those types of responses there so this one can be primarily pilots responding to the survey.

It violates IRS rules (for the normal working folks) to count a Jan 2023 paycheck in your 2022 W2. Whatever you get paid in 2022 counts. So your Dec work paid in 2023 goes in your W2 of 2023. Talk to your accountant.

Oh.. alright. Well my last paycheck will be on the last day of business day in December then. I’ll just keep kicking this can

While that’s the case at your airline, it’s not the case at United. My previous comment was about United.

BIGRIG 12-16-2022 04:53 AM

The SWA guys are gonna be late to the party. They won’t get to brag about their paychecks until after the 20th. Can’t wait to hear the term “Hustle.”

Yes, I picked up a lot as I live in base.

bonvoyage 12-16-2022 09:30 AM

Breeze, year 1 CA

1 month training pay, which was $2,500, 3 months of year 1 FO pay, 8 months CA pay, which changed/increased 3 times this year. 393 hours blocked

$213,500 gross (doesn’t count what I will earn Dec 16-31)
$8,181 employer 401k match

Excluding training for initial FO OE and upgrade, I stayed in 3 hotels. Every other night spent at home. Live in base, drive to work. Average 10 days of work per month

While I’m happy, regionals are paying the same amount now (although WAY more work for it). Crazy to think a few years ago I commuted halfway across the country to make 32k a year at my regional

ReadOnly7 12-16-2022 10:47 AM

I got a Tumi.

No amount of money can top that. All you other losers are green with envy…….

About tree fiddy

BIGRIG 12-16-2022 11:55 AM

I paid $318 for Short Term Disability out of my own pocket. And another $2700 of my own money for long term disability. Also paid $1000 of my own money to park at the airport so I could produce revenue for the company. Oh and $527 of imputed income for SWAG.

Did your employer contribute all of the $51,0000 into your 401k? Or do you literally mean $51? Also, who is your employer? That’s kind of the point.
