That'd probably be a good bet. I knew a major airline Captain who managed to hide the fact he was diabetic from his AME. This was well before it became possible to fly with diabetes.

NetJets paid a bunch of $$$ to lobbyist and got an age 70 mandatory retirement bill for Part 91K and 135 operators over a certain number of operations pushed thru Congress. I think only NetJets and Flexjet are big enough to implement it. NetJets did it back in January so as of next January a few hundred geezers will be leaving NetJets. The owners were uncomfortable with pilots pushing 80 flying their jets.

The guilty until proven innocent protocol is a result of the underfunded bureaucratic aeromedical system. No culpability in the interest of public safety unless they ground enough people to bring the economy to a halt. Farcical indeed.

Put a real, rigorous exam in place for 65+.

Anyone advocating for my stringent medical standards is SEVERELY MISGUIDED.
And that is coming from someone in their early 40's with no health issues. Do any of you have any clue what I nightmare it is to have a deferred medical?? Seriously, do any of you have any clue?

AAM-300 is out of control. The time to ask about a back/neck injury was my next renewal after it, not 20 years later. Then when they get told "no, he's fine" they just dig out more things from my medical record.

Although I do tend to agree that 75+ is too old.

Since you are posting on a pilot message board I’m assuming you are a pilot. Thus I’m assuming you get at least yearly medicals. Thus you must know how unlikely this idea is to be implemented. Besides this is the one thing that airlines would oppose as 75% of pilots would medical out before 67 and collect company benefits for an extra two years. All these pilots getting the highest pay rates, highest vacation rates and have the highest sick out. I’m no where near 67 but you bet I’d collect a check until 67 and I don’t think I’d be very efficient to the company.

Imagine being a captain for 20 plus years and now you’re doing the pre / post flights in the cold rain. Single engine taxi checks and flows. The right seat is a lot more physical and mental
work if you ask me. If you’re a big 3 pilot then senior WB FO but that’s exhausting imho. Idk about that.
