It measured cognitive decline. It’s real and measurable and starts at 24 and then keeps going.

By 70, the actual reaction-time difference is equivalent to one-third of a blink of an eye.
you’re misinterpreting that study, but that’s okay because you’re wrong in a much more important way:

the decline of pilot skills with age isn’t about raw reaction time. go instruct on a widebody and try to drag a median 63yo widebody captain through training on a new plane with all of their experience.

That’s also why most chess tournaments are dominated by 70 year olds.
Quick reactions, quicker thought, and all that experience.
Your beef is with the study, the one the APC echo chamber treated as the gospel.
No you are running from it.

Have a great weekend.

Time to surf!

You good with that for pilots? After all, it’s all about cognitive decline, right?Law enforcement has a very different BFOQ than you and me, and that’s one reason the military is exempt from the ADEA.

Nice try!
Judges don't have to make split second decisions. Like great poster once said "like bringing a tricycle to the Indy 500".

You should have been in my last 6 recurrent. Total potted plants. I was single pilot all three days.

One refused to accept a direct to IAF of an RNAV (RNP) and screamed we are not allowed to do that.

Ah it's the initial approach fix and is not a fix inside the FAP and it is not .... forget it.

I have control. That was on our loft.

That is what is behind all of us.

Have a great weekend.

And I've had to carry my fair share of less than stellar left seaters through the sim. So because of PEMDAS my anecdote cancels your anecdote. Now go disprove the entire medical field of gerontology.

Have a great weekend

Boeing Aviator has been pretty quiet. I’ve been waiting for him to show up to let us know that the joke is on us and this was all part of the plan. LEPF/EPAS now has ICAO right where they want them and the LEPF insider double agents are about to finish the job from the inside. It’s going to happen any day now. His senator neighbor tells him so. Just keep the faith and keep donating.

Haha
You are unshakeable. I’ll give you that.
Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations.
I respect your resolve. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
Enjoy your weekend!

I thought it was tragic you brought you an Age 55 community into an employment discussion.

But I will do it again.

Minimum ages are exempt from ADEA, thus permitted.

You good now?

ATC has no age limit under ICAO.

Is that the model you want?

In the US however length of service is tied to the entire FERS. Changing it would touch at least 5 million FERS calculations in perputity. Not saying it's right, it just not my lane.
Ok. Let’s pretend for one second that your crazy ramblings make sense and “age discrimination” from the Congressional Law is illegal as you say. If as you argue, ADEA trumps the Fair Treatment of Experienced Pilots Act, why haven’t you filed a lawsuit about it? It sounds like such a slam dunk the way you put it!

You just don’t know when to wave the white flag. You refuse to admit age discrimination is legal, you refuse to admit age 67 isn’t going to happen, and you refuse to admit that you got swindled by EPAS and LEPF. Any shred of credibility you had is long gone.

what i’m hearing is that you’ve never instructed a 63yo widebody captain changing aircraft

Again, for the people in the back.

the quantity of flying jobs (6 figure already available) for 65plus will soothe the pain.
