The benefit of 2 weeks of pay is NOT worth the risk of losing BOTH jobs, IMO. Notwithstanding the fact that some folks are clearly getting away with it (not saying nefariously). Just saying....

With PRD all the new employer has to do is log in after being granted access is log in and see that their new hire has been employed at their former company at the same time and terminate them. It’s much easier to get caught with PRD.

I know at SW when people were leaving once you gave notice they'd pull your whole remaining schedule with pay.

I made sure I had a turn on the day that I wanted to be my last day, before giving notice.

Do not under any circumstances be employed by two companies at the same time. You risk termination from both.
If dropping notice the day before and you have flying scheduled soon (most especially if it's a non-business day) I would call and email the crew scheduling supervisor and give notice directly... that ensures they can't try to hold your responsible when you no-show. Then leave a VM and email for CP as noted above. Also read company policy to see if there are any special requirements for resignation.

Record the phone calls if legal to do so in your state (probably is if you advise the person on the other end).

That way you have documentation if Old Employer erroneously shows as still employed and you get fired from New Employer. Hopefully you can force Old Employer to correct the record, and hopefully then New Employer would re-instate you. If not you'd have to sue them both, but you'd probably have plenty of time on your hands to do that.

Yes and this is a potential problem if you give very short notice on say Saturday night... the PRD lady might be on vacation next week.

I'd log into PRD yourself on the morning of class date, and if they still show you employed I'd advise the indoc staff that it's in error (and that you have the receipts).

I've certainly heard of the same thing happening, where effectively the company 'waives' the 2-week notice for active work at their sole discretion (though I'm not sure how that impacts pay).

I'm just saying you are playing with fire if you are counting on that, even with some evidence of precedent, And, that it's not worth 2 weeks of pay. YMMV.

There would have to be a pretty compelling reason for me NOT to give two weeks. While events this week has introduced some volitility, I still don't think it would exceed my threshold. Furthermore if it were giving you that much stress you can always not resign, decline the class and continue to work at your current employer. You are probably not ready to do that, see it differently now?

if you’re at FedEx, you’ll be asked to resign when they receive the PRIA request.

Yeah, so PRIA was replaced by the PRD a few years back. The pilot has full control over who can access their PRD and for how long. Management no longer gets a heads up like they used to.

40.25 is still paper and goes directly to your DER, doesn't it?
