They will or won’t surpass on their own merits. Are they working harder? Yes. Smarter? Not quite yet.

When you're more interested in optics and politics than science and physics, you end up abdicating your position as energy superpower. This is why China has surpassed us in this field.

Maybe concern yourself more with wattage than whether something could be called "woke"
Weird flex bragging about China leading the world in helping the environment. Didn't have that in my BINGO card.

dude. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? Hes not “bragging” about china saving the environment, he’s recognizing an objective statistical FACT that china is leading the charge to be actually energy independent (free from market fluctuations). Get a grip man. You’re completely consumed by your politics.

to tie it into the current conflict, there are rumblings in the pacific of nations turning to china for these very same products that have your panties in a twist. To include Australia.

Easy when you have over a Billion people, many of whom are oppressed and living like they are forced to like like they are in the stone age. But you also bring up a great point, the US needs to invest way more in Nuclear technologies to bring that "per capita" number down.

What? Check out where China was forty years ago and while you are at it look at total historical emissions per capita. Let us know what you find.

The US is investing heavily into nuclear and the current administration is giving them the tools to do it regarding streamlining permitting. I have a family member that is working obscene hours on a leading SMR project.
