Default Minimum Currency Requirements

Does anybody know a good resource for currency requirements. I know SWA wants 200 hours in the last 3 years, I could not find any similar requirements for Continental or Delta. I looked on their job pages, APC, and searched the forums. Thank you.

I think I have answered my own question. After looking at about 6 other airlines I have found that these airlines did not set a specific hours vs. time threshold, but state something to the effect that "flight currency will be considered". Does this sound correct? It seems smarter to me to not limit your pool of candidates based on a specific number of recent hours.

I'm in the same boat! Have found only the 200 required by SWA, 50 for Alaska and I think 100 for UAL. My buddies at DAL and CAL just tell me to keep doing what I'm doing and show/build currency. Update with AirlineApps often and wait.

Please share if you know of other official or unofficial minima.

AirlineApps asks how many instrument approaches in the past 6 (?) months.

The various addendums (DAL and CAL at least) ask specifically for hours in the last 12 months.

Same boat here. Last duty assignment before my committment is up is non-flying (FAC), still trying to assess if I need to take another set of flying orders to get current or if it is safe to bail out now.

I'm caught between having limited options now with my hours and currency, but getting in at the beginning of the hiring cycle, versus taking orders for 2 more years to be competitive for the more desirable companies, but potentially lose 2 years seniority if I end up where I qualify for today anyhow.

Hey Huggy I agree. I'm trying to climb back in the biz after a five year layoff. Got plenty of the right time and 3 types but because it's 5 yrs old,it's hard to get noticed unless I get current. Quite frustrating........

Here's the stuff from CAL............all you have to do is go to www.continentalairlines.com and go to the far dropdown menu "About Continental", click on "career opportunities" when the menu drops down, and then click on "pilots" (you'll see what I've posted below). It tells you everything you need to apply. Good luck!
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Pilot PositionsThank you for your interest in joining the Continental team. Continental anticipates continued growth and significant hiring through 2007 and beyond.

The following are the minimum qualifications to apply for a pilot position:

1,500 hours fixed-wing total flight time
1,000 hours fixed-wing PIC time, or 500 hours PIC time and 500 hours SIC time in a turbojet
1,000 hours fixed-wing turbine time
1,000 hours fixed-wing multi-engine time (civilian or military) or 1,000 hours single-engine military fighter jet time
A current ATP written exam
A current first class FAA medical
A current passport
A Bachelor's degree is highly desired
Continental's online application process is maintained by AirlineApps.com. If you are already a member of the AirlineApps system, sign in to your account and add Continental to your target listing. New applicants should create a new AirlineApps.com account to apply.

They will take recent flight experience in to account. I had a resume walked in by a CAL pilot and the response was to get current (which i did) , get some time and reapply.... which I will.

Did they give you an idea of how much recent experience they want at CAL?
