I wonder how soon will the company start filling all that variety of vacancies on latest AE vs. sticking with the old plan - "mostly widebody JFK" from Mr. B's call.
What do you think/heard/read?

Thx

I think the word ER sounds good. After searching a little bit and asking some people (commuting to work went to 100% DAL for some reason...), I think I will enjoy the ER and flying long haul internationally. I think my chances of holding a line up there will happend very quick, and I have seriously considered moving to JAX and commute from there. Once I can hold a line on the ER or 777 from ATL, I will probably go with that. The only "bad" thing I can think of will be the short call reserve out of NY, but it is my understanding that the company will let you know well in advance and give you trips before the reserve even begins in most cases. It is also no secret that DAL will expand their international flying, so staying up there should be very interesting. Regardless of what I get or where I get based, I am very happy to be aboard and will just adjust as I go along to get where I want to be..

Welcome aboard Viking,

In my opinion short call is not a big deal. They have to give you a min of 10 hours notice to report. Add the unofficial 2 hour call out and it is effectively the same as a trip assignment. I've never been notified less than 18 hours.

This is not to say that there is not problems with the current reserve system. You'll have plenty of time to hash through that when you on the line.

Thank you. I have heard the same thing and is not too worried. It was just the only thing I had heard that was not extremely good, everything else has been...

I like where I'm sitting on the list. I wonder if the Initial Assignment column being blank means there will be a mix of assignments to choose from? I'm not sure what my first choice would be. There is good about all of them.

So do I, good question with the blanks. What do you think? Staying in CA?

I don't know. If I can get LAX or SLC I'll probably take it. It's hard to make a decision without knowing a lot about the schedules, trips etc. I guess it doesn't really matter as long as the hiring continues and there is another AE in Feb. I'll be happy with whatever I get!

If you are referencing the Dec 3 class, I know there is at least one furlough/mil LOA recall that will be back in orientation/indoc with you those two weeks.

If that is the case, he already has his assignment off of the Nov AE and won't be in the "pot" so to speak when it comes time to pick your equipment/base.

Edit: Sorry misread the original post, thought you noticed a 500 number spread in seniority numbers, I see now that it was employee numbers that the original question was about...my bad.

According to a Delta pilot friend of mine, your employee number has nothing to do with your seniority number. He said you get that later in training. That would explain the seemingly random nature of the number order.
