I interviewed 11-12 Oct and cleared to train 23 Oct. I was offered the 7 Jan class but due to personal reasons I can not accept it. I will be in the 21 Jan class.
For those waiting for the interview offer, here is my advice. When the email comes, do not delay getting down to ATL. I put mine off until it was convenient for my schedule. Because of that, I know guys that were offered an interview after I was but will end up being 4 classes ahead of me (should only be 3 but I can not make the 7 Jan class). I have never been in the airline industry but everyone tells me that seniority is everthing. I will end up being about 100 numbers behind guys that were offered interviews after me.
Bottom line: If the offer for an interview comes, get down there as soon as you feel you can be prepared for the interview.
For anyone else in the 21 Jan class, I look forward to meeting you and I am very excited to be joining the Delta family.

Bobo is correct. Take the time you need to be ready, but get in there as soon as you can.

You can translate "personal reasons" as my wife is due 4 days before the class begins. I was willing to give up 35 spots in seniority to ensure I am there for the birth of my second child. In the long run, that memory will mean more to me then classing up sooner. Not to mention my wife would never let me live it down if I missed it. I am getting out of the military to ensure that I don't miss things like this. I look forward to meeting any other 21 Jan classmates.

there were a lot of things I was willing to give up (and did give up) to get an earlier seniority number. However, missing the birth of my child was not on that list. Good for you.

been at delta for 20 years...seniority is EVERYTHING...one number can be the difference between flying or 5 years of furlough (which would not be great for the wife & kiddies)...hope this helps someone in the decision making process. cheers.

Huh? Attitude is great, but seniority is everything. The first guy gets the first Captain seat, first vacation choice, schedule bid, etc. Spend a few years on the street by a whisker and your "attitude" changes. JMO
