Perks at Delta?
#22
In 2008 I took the flyer one of the ATL Nissan dealers put on our perks site to a local dealer and they matched it for a SUV.
The dealer "plans" or VPPs are the easiest. Set price and easy for them to validate - no hassle. I have heard good and bad things about Trucar.
(some dealers want to haggle as they dont have the EXACT car on the lot, etc. - BTW USAA uses Trucar pricing)

TrueCar (the free stuff online) is pretty good at showing you all the invoice dealer cost holdbacks and promotions.
It will also give you a graph showing what others have recently paid.
The Delta Employee discounts will get you a no-haggle price just over invoice. Print out the form and bring it to the dealer
Then negotiate down from the DAL Employee pricing with the true car insight. There's usually still wiggle room to get well below invoice.

While we were there, they asked if we had a vehicle we wanted to sell/trade...we didn't. A couple months later, my wife said she liked the Rav so much she wasn't going to drive her mini cooper S any more. So, I put it on craigslist and meanwhile took it by the Toyota dealer...they checked it out, drove it and offered me $500 less than I had it listed for on craigslist...done.

Love all of you and I apologize that I am going to say this but, the minute you show up at the car dealership with USAA, Employee discount (Ford Plan etc), Costco, or any pricing program; the salespeople jump for joy. You just made their job easier by agreeing to purchase the car for a price that is above the threshold. Kind of like achieving 4-8-3-3.
A little negotiation will yield you at least true invoice (not the published version that is inflated) minus 5%. I promise. Just dont show your cards or any desires.
Good Luck,

In some ways you are right. I had a car lot though. The only money my Toyota dealer made (if he made any) was a part of the Toyota holdback at the end of the year. The reality was, he moved a vehicle.
