Can't speak for all NKer's but I love life/family, truely enjoy my profession, like my co-workers(fellow pilots and FA's) and most everything else.... Not all of us believe everything that spews out of Miramar. Have a great day Bud:D Maybe I'll run into you over in the new crew lounge? |
I can't think of a airline that doesn't have problems. Everybody is searching for the dream job that I don't think exists. I was just hired by Spirit and I am looking forward to coming aboard. Positive attitudes make life a lot less stressful so I plan on maintaining mine. Take care.

No problem...... Introduce yourself to me sometime and I'll buy you a beer; Its better than that Enviromental Green stuff they've been serving;)
Last time I checked, smiles were still free at NK.....probably not for long:D Funny you mentioned DTW. After comuting on NWA, it is interesting what they have to say about one of their former workers. Good luck careerpilot..... It is a pretty fun and good place to work. Like you said, everyplace has problems. Hopefully NK can iron out theirs so we don't have to go looking for another "dream job". Enjoy SJU! |
I thought it was "Soylent Green".

The plan was that mgmt was going to SJU. Climbto350.com is looking for pilots who live in SJU. This way nobody will get sent there who does not want to go.

I cant help but think that a few crews will be displaced down to SJU for a few months. But will all of the hiring going on until June I cant see anyone staying there very long unless they wanted to. |

The new hires drank it all this week. I am just a regular line pilot. No technical publications for me. I hope I did not come across as being abrasive. That was not my intention. I am a little jaded Brek. Jaded becasue the same people who were telling me that NK was great and had a future, and how lucky I am to be apart of it are the same people who are telling me to "Run, not walk" to another carrier. This change of attitude became prevalent shortly after the downsizing of DTW took effect. It gets old after a while. Especially when you have fellow pilots fighting eachother over political propaganda. I for one will support my group, and my union, but i will not be pushed into being negative in nature or choosing sides. You have a way to voice your opinion. Its called a vote. Best. Tjets.
BTW, LOVE my life (new baby), occupation, and the people I work with. Trying to stay positive during the "transitional period" for almost 8 years! Also, It is FREEZING in MSP tonight! |
Best guess, what would competitive times be for a regional FO coming to Spirit? Are they hiring close to the published mins or is it a case by case deal depending on refs, etc? Thanks

Even without a rec, Spirit is looking for a lot of qualified people right now. If you are willing to live in (or are from) San Juan then your chances go through the roof. Competitive applicants would have 121 experience and approx 3000 hours. Spirit is highly interested in people who have knowledge of "cerebral" aircraft like the A320 series. The machine thinks. Spirit wants people who will manage that machine and relate to it on a level of intelligence rather than wit. That being said, get familiar with complex FMS systems and glass cockpit aircraft if you want to "stand apart" from the others. From your position as an ATR FO it looks like you wont be flying glass anytime soon; so think of creative ways to acquire that experience to show management that 1) you CAN do it and 2) you did it for Spirit. Hope that helps. |
