To all of you out there is single engine turbine PIC worthless when it comes to the airlines or not?

It depends on the quality of said turbine. For example, United accepts 500 hrs PIC of Fighter time. Back when I interviewed, high-performance miltary trainer time counted, too (T-45, T-6A) towards the fighter-count. The recognition is that these single-engine aircraft had performance that exceeded most multi-engine turbine (civil) aircraft.
If your time is in a turboprop civil aircraft, your time isn't worthless, but you don't have the same advantages as a guy from a military background. I would think your odds would be bettered if you also had mutli-engine time (whether turbine or not).

Single engine is not what they want. It is good for building time if it can get you into a twin turbine, but that is it. 1000 hours of single turbine PIC will not land you a job at the legacies. Are you in a Caravan? If so, that has fixed gear which also does not help you out. Get to a twin and make it a turbine. IMHO.

I found in the 135/91 world interviewers looked at single TP time like this:
Caravan: "Good, you can spell Power Lever and ITT."
PC-12: "That's a nice airplane. What's your multi time?"

Thank you all that is mostly what I have been hearing too. I have 200 hours of Multi PIC Turbine, but I was just entertaining thought since the job is so close to home and the job is flying a Caravan.

I have well over 2500hrs turbojet as an FO (stuck at a regional in the 9-11 stagnation) but am now flying a Caravan for quality-of-life issues and have over 1500hrs on it. How would I be perceived if I apply to the majors? Some like UAL are hung up on multi-turbine PIC, while others don't make that distinction, like NWA, DAL, and SWA. I've heard of people with nothing but Agcat time being hired at the aforementioned places though thats the exception rather than the norm and they obviously had gotten some multi-turbine SIC somewhere else.
Thanks,
RC
