I am in my first year at a major (currently on reserve) and I can tell you that it will take me years to get more than 12 days off and no weekends. One of the things which attracts me to NJA is that I could bid the 7on/7off almost right away, giving me 14 days off.

Also, since I am not currently willing to move to a domicile, I commute on my off-days; thus, the NJA commute is attractive to me. I can see how my perspective would be different if I lived at my domicile. I wouldn't care about sitting reserve at home and I wouldn't be commuting on my off-days.

I do appreciate everyone's comments. Still not sure if NJA would be for me, but this thread really clarifies the pros/cons. Thanks again!
