Who would want to work for an airline that treats its employees like that. They should understand that during tough times junior pilots would rather work for an airline THAT HAS NEVER FURLOUGHED.

I left CAL for UPS and all five of my sponsors were glad that I left, knowing that it showed CAL management that they have to do more to keep pilots. More $$ and benefits for all if they cannot retain employees. Out of my CAL new hire class in 2006, four of us left out of 19.
Is it really that hard for you to understand? After reading some of your posts, I think you are somewhat confused about the way the world works.
One more thing, I'm still friends with and talk to all of my sponsors, of which, two have also quit CAL for greener pastures. CAL ain't the bees knees Karl.

Over the last 2 years, I know several pilots who have sponsored people at CAL who have gotten hired and then left. Those sponsors have been called by CAL and read the riot act. I also know a CAL pilot who was keeping their resume on AirlineApps up-to-date and was called by CAL and questioned about it...
Apparently, a lot of guys were going there and getting typed on the B737, just so they could go to SWA. CAL was losing a ton of money on these folks who were barely sticking around for 6 months.

Bottom line, you have to do what is best for you and your family. Are you supposed to stay somewhere the rest of your life even if it sucks just cause someone wrote you a letter? Not very realistic, especially in this business.
