I agree. They can only move at the speed of business and there is a lot of business to take care of. An SOC may be sped up a little but spring 2009 is way to lofty a goal.
A case of beer on winter of 2010. |

I think they'll have a lot more problems than they think. As was stated earlier we have almost nothing in common operationally except we fly airplanes. Fleets, books, training programs, mx writeups, ACARS, flight directors, and the list of differences is endless. My bet, Spring 2010.
I know he is one guy with one opinion, but he has done this before. Just a thought out loud |
Ok so I am sure this question has been asked but rather than read all 8 pages of this I figured I would be lazy and ask again. If only the NWA guys can be furloughed as a result of dc-9 retirements until the fence comes down, then what happens when the fence comes down. Do the furloughed NWA guys get recalled and junior DAL guys take their place on the street?
Sorry if I am completely ignorant. |

If the 787 orders, say 18 of them, are changed to 777, those 777's are now fenced off from premerger Delta pilots. So the 777 catagory can grow but no Delta can get to the new slots created..
P.S. I think the list is extremely fair but think the fences should not have included any airfames aquired post SOC. |

We demand that original DAL pilots be made whole to the value of their frozen DBs, the same as the former NWA pilots.

Sorry if I am completely ignorant. You're getting your metaphors mixed up. The only "fence" is the one around the 777s, 747-200s, 747-400s and the 787 CA and FO positions. What you're talking about is the furlough protection. At that only lasts 1 bid period past SOC, which could be as early as next summer. Once past that point, people start falling off the bottom. I would assume that if there are any awards during the displacement process (it happens as people shift around), anyone on furlough out of seniority will have the option to bid anything they might be able to hold. Although I am sure if this happens, there will be the inevitable arbitration over it. Nu |
Reddog25,
Actually, the way I read it, no premerger Delta guy can bid the 787, 747 prior to 5 years after SOC and no pre merger NW guy can bid the 777 prior to 5 years after SOC. It makes no mention of aircraft aquired after or before SOC. The only exception, again as I read it, if Management swaps 787 orders for 777 then those aircraft, and only those aircraft, would have the same fence on the NW side. It looks to me that any 777 acquired will ge on the pre-merger Delta side and any more 747's or 787's acquired would be on the pre-merger NW side. Denny |

Could there be the weird case where a junior Delta pilot bids the 777 just to be protected from a 767ER to DC9 displacement?
That tells you something about how out of whack this thing is at the bottom. |

No- you have your DB AND our DC. Why would you not want that for us? All we're asking for is the same as you- our frozen DB and the same DC you now have.
