All the feed I've been getting is saying later next year rather than earlier. A number of speedbumps have been encountered.

I agree with the other OD (original Delta) guys that the longer the better for right now....sadly its the only thing keeping some of us on our current equipment and in our home base.

Quote: Interesting point. What is the 49K per pilot cost...salary, training? I have heard some broadly worded comments from mgt that leads me to believe that they want to find a way to end the Compass deal. This added cost would make sense to there efforts if true.
I think you are right! This can be the first time that the current generation does not sell the next generation down the river. We have to keep that in the contract so furloughs/flow downs hurt the company rather than become a easy out with no cost to management.

$49K per E175 type. That doesn't include hotel costs, per-diem, and the cost to bring a flow back up to mainline. The flow back goes with Compass wherever they're sold. If the flowback is CXd, the number of large RJs drops considerably. Also, eliminating the costs of the flow back could just be bringing the E175s onto the mainline certificate. JMHO.

$49k per E175 type sounds a bit on the overpriced side. I have no special knowledge, of course, but know that a 767 type costs "only" $15-20k. Maybe it's the lack of sims available for E175's?

In any case, it is still a "posion pill", which is probably a good thing for all concerned.

Quote: Maybe, but he should listen to the small violins from each of the NWA pilots he leap frogged before expects some sympathy. It's time to move on.
How do you know he leapfrogged anybody? Lots of guys moved backwards relatively. No DAL guys moved forward.

BS, nice try. I guess for you relative seniority means its all relative to how you look at it.

The true cost of a 757-767 type is much greater than this..... Just the combined salaries of say a student that is upgrading and an instructor pilot is around $40K then you have sim time, classroom, OE, all the learning materials, hotels, and perdiem. I would say the actual cost to the company would be closer to $50k.

Hi!

I read that the charged cost for a Global Express type is $53K at one of the sim places.

They said the J41 FO training at Trans States cost $20K just for the sim time.

Lots of types cost $30+K and $40+K if you go online and look at pricing at the sim places.

Wouldn't doubt, but like has been mentioned already. At the airlines there is more that goes into the cost than what one would pay if they simply walked in off the street.
