I was on the fence for JBPA but after watching the pocket sessions and hearing what our CEO had to say I don't see how guys/gals won't be in favor of JBPA. All I heard was the same old rhetoric about how we need to be a different company. I'm sorry, but is it me or do any others feel like management is all talk but no action? I don't trust our management after watching the pocket sessions. Any thoughts?

Herk, You vote for the stupid union if you want to, but if we loose our perks and start having to stay at Best Western Hotels vs. the Hilton I am gonna be ****ed and I am not gonna blame management!

Here's a question I posed to a labor lawyer that is something to ponder. Since we are not union now how can we have a seniority system in place that the company has to honor? They don't have to honor anything. We act like a union when it comes to bidding, seniority and pay but we have no representation right? After 5 years of employment what protects us from the company letting the top paid pilots go or any of us for that matter? Face it, we are extremely vulnerable and management is trying to scare the sheeples into not voting a union in place.
What happens when this management team gets replaced by a management team that tries to stick it to us? By then its too late, we have nothing. We all have a vote, but I have seen enough and its an easy decision for me after listening to management.

Pre-9/11 management said, "Don't unionize. We'll take care of you."
Post-9/11 management said, "Just relax. This will hurt you more than it will hurt us".

These guys also said they believed our individual contracts were better than a union. No kidding. We all know strength comes in numbers and 2000 pilots are much easier to deal with as individuals. Is it me or is this too obvious to see?
The other kicker for me was having heard senior pilots saying we needed to furlough. Who in their right mind would sell their own down the river? Thank you sir, can I have another.

All kidding aside, remember that contracts are as much about protecting pilots from other pilots as they are about protecting pilots from the company.

Just because you think things are great between the company and employees now doesn't mean they will be tomorrow. When push comes to shove with the company, as it eventually will, you'd better have a union that can shove back.

Perhaps you should bid over to the right seat of the E190 and take it up the ass like them. We have E190 FOs making substantially less than A320 FOs like you and all you care about is hotels. Priceless!!!!
