I'm awarded primary vacation in coming April, and I've checked the "No" box on my displacement choice for retaining vacation in ecrew. Is there a way to move that week to someplace else? I'm being MD, so I know i won't have to re-bid my vacation.
Thanks.
Thanks.

They say that but the guy I just went through recurrent with is MDed from the 767 to the 88 and they told him that he had to go.
See we have a 12 month conversion, so unless you are in the first wave of 88 training I would be surprised to see them pull you.
Rebidding vacation should some out shortly. It could get interesting with all of the vacation no being awarded yet.

I thought all qualification training had to be put on your line by the 5th of the month prior and once you were awarded a line or reserve line then you couldn't be put into training without your consent. If in doubt call the union. From section 23:
Section 23 - Scheduling
B. Timing of Scheduling Events
1. Current Month Events Affecting Subsequent Bid Period Scheduling
Day of Calendar Month Event
Before the first day of the bid period prior to the bid period in which a pilot may be scheduled for CQ
Pilot designates CQ Golden Day preference
Pilot advises Crew Resources (via DBMS) of training unavailability in subsequent bid period
On the 1st
Vacation move-ups close
On or before the 5th
Bid packages distributed electronically
Vacation move-ups posted
Qualification training posted
CQ training posted
Asterisk rotation changes postedBefore 0800E on the 12th
On the 12th @ 0800E
Pilot advises Crew Scheduling of known absence (e.g., MLOA, scheduled accident leave, scheduled sick leave) in subsequent bid period
Line bidding closes
On or before the 17th @ 1800E
FAR and PWA time and duty adjustments completed (line adjustment)
Adjusted lines made available for viewing in DBMS
On the 18th @ 1800E
(and through the end of bid period at all PCS run times from table in Section 23 B. 2.)

On or before the last day of the bid period

Although it's been over a year, and things may have changed, I had 73NB recurrent, followed less than 3 weeks later by M88A initial. When I asked if I could get out of it, I was told no because I was in my "grace" month (3rd month of my window). Maybe better luck if in "prior" month or "due" month?

Beer and several of us are in the base month so we'll see what they do. They just had told me that they had several future 88 guys to be removed from ER recurrent today, however, I could see why the company might not want to do that just in case things change. We'll see. His words were we don't want to send you to training on two aircraft.

I was told that the training planner was going to drop my ER recurrent. Feb is my base month so I guess they can waive the recurrent. I was MD'd to the 88 with my choice to displace me if I can hold a regular line. Anyone know the parameters that measure if I can hold a regular line? I am about 83% in the M88B. If I get out of 88 training and cant hold a line, it would really suck. Anyone else get a call from crew resources and given 88 training for feb 27th? Seeya there!!!
