Greenslips at DAL

Greenslips at DAL
I was on the ER in NYC last summer and bid reserve so I could greenslip. They were very good to me. I have been displaced to the 88 in ATL and am pretty sure I will be a line holder. Given rules for domestic flying, could someone tell me if it will be more profitable to bid reserve and get the pay above 70 hrs or get double pay greenslips and be under the 30 in 7 rule. I feel like double pay green is great but you are limited by what is already on your line. Opinions please!!

From what I have been told there is going to be a lot of flying on the 88 this summer. One person stated that the ALV will not drop appreciably. I guess they just need more bodies to fly the flying this summer.
GS have always been good in the summer. I cannot wait for it on the 767. We are busy as all get out now. I cannot imagine how we are going to do it this summer.

Thanks ACL, I am just trying to figure out if it is better to GS as a line holder or to do it as a reserve. Lineholders have to fly the ALV then the GS kick in. Reserves could just fly GS and get it above the 70hrs.

Last summer I went to the movies and put my phone on silent mode. The next night at 1am they called for a 6-day inverse assignment (I was a lineholder), the original value of the trip was 38 hours and I'd have replaced my 3 day I had coming up. I missed the call.
I was surprised ;-) when I looked on ecrew in the morning that it was picked up within 30 minutes of my phone call. I kicked myself all summer over that.

They are saying no reinstatements until the next bid. Looks like I might get typed to fly ~60 days, reinstate, then only stay in position until the FNWA guys come down to displace me, then I can get the full course on the MD88, but since I'm not locked, I'll bid some piece of NWA equipment that comes to Atlanta....ahem' why are we getting displaced? I forgot.

Lets see, the Boeing is Flaps 20 on the missed, not 15. There is no FLCH on the MD88, but it auto fills the descent page with Cruise speed, don't deploy the flaps while starting #2 on the 767, but don't use the slats without the AUX & Transfer, the anti ice is auto, except on the 757 and ignition on before ice, don't forget the tail one minute before, on the 88 (KA BOOM)
When you see someone trying to do "poles and ladders" on a 737 in August, come over and say "Hi" and refer me to some sort of help for those who have been trained far beyond their intelligence.
