So please greenlight,

tell us military guys more about Battle Stars on your lapel and what it's like to have guys die in the cockpit. And then, call us junior again and tell wild and crazy stories about low level IFR and ILS's to a guy who landed on a ship at night or who had to cross several continents above 70,000 feet with no electrics and between countries wanting to kill him. Please, educate us on what it's like to be airborne and in harms way......
Oh yippy! A military/regional slugfest on the DAL In-house union thread. Please, for the love of all that's good do this somewhere else.

Here's the deal, military only guys don't know the hazards or trials of the civilians flying night freight, etc. with old equipment in the worst weather one can fly in. Conversely, civilian guys don't know what its like to fly a fighter into combat taking AAA, etc. The fact is that once we leave the ground at 150 knots, it doesn't matter the plane you fly, a bad day is deadly either way. And the last I checked, there is no difference in being dead in a civilian crash or a military one. The point is that we've all gotten here through different paths. There are great military and great civilian pilots. Likewise, there are also lousy military and civilian pilots. If you want to compare the size of your "Jim's", maybe PM each other, meet at a bar, whip 'em out on a pool table and settle your "whose superior" fight once and for all.

I have nothing against you, personally. In so many words, I posed a question; should military pilots go to the head of the major airline hiring line? Military aviation is challenging, dangerous, and requires highly skilled airmanship. I never said otherwise. I felt you displayed some condescension and contempt for regional pilots and I responded to it.
