Starting pay for regionals?
Hi Folks,
I was curious if I could ask for some suggestions. I am writing a business plan for a startup regional, and I have a rough idea of what CAP’s and FO’s would start out at, but was curious as to experienced CAP/FO's. If anyone could throw me some numbers, that would help a lot!
I’ve seen the god-awful YouTube video about the Regionals’ salaries, and *Gulp*, ours won’t be quite as destitute.
A little about me… I worked for TZ for 7+ yrs, and learned a wealth of knowledge from their mistakes.
Thanks for the help,
Chris

Indiana... it will be very small at first.
@ chongololo, I completely agree. I saw how bad 'no to little' pay was for pilots AND the workforce at ATA, and then to expect loyalty from them when times were tough... That philosophy made no practical sense. You get what you pay for... if its $7/hour, then all you'll get in return is a $7/hr attitude, and no morale or loyalty whatsoever.

The next question is what type of equipment, a 402 or turboprop or jet.

I am curious about your paper. I just started working on my MBA. Working on pre-reqs at the moment. Accelerated courses that don't require the construction on a business plan. I know the 5000/6000 level courses will though. For mutual benefit, I'll PM you.

Why Indiana? what is the unemployment rate out there and average earnings per year, folks in some parts of the country just don't have the cash to get on a plane, the midwest has been hit hard and in some cases the hardest from the downturn.

This would be a jet serviced route, but this is all in the planning stages now. I am just starting the business plan and gathering figures and estimates.
Thanks for asking!

Not to be too critical too early, but as a pilot very familar with SBN-IND flying, I'm not so sure a jet would be anywhere near efficient enough for this route structure.
It could be done with a Caravan like Pacific Wings utilizes, or even the C-402's Cape used on the run. I would think a B1900 would almost be overkill.
PM me, I'm interested in further information if you don't mind sharing a little.
