Let me put it this way... Ask your Reps and see if you get a denial of any of these.

While you are writing them, ask about Compass. You will likely get a reply along the lines of "we are evaluating the representational situation" which means "looking at divestiture." Get clarification.

Frankly, I do not know what it takes to make the ship change course. Resolutions like the one Luis Martinez plans on introducing at the DTW LEC meeting on 3/30 help to show political interest. If you are a DTW pilot - show up and vote!

Sponsors for Atlanta, New York, LA, CVG, etc. would be a good thing too. Luis's contact information is on the ALPA board where his resolution is getting some discussion.

I am just stupefied at to why our MEC is going this route. I do not know of any super confidential information that would make a group representing us go in this direction.

Can someone please tell me how the HELL this would be advantageous to our pilot group? Why would they even consider this?

It would stop the erosion of mainline flying. It is clear that management will walk all over us and violate our contracts when they want, and pay nothing in reparations.

I have been told that the DAL MEC will review Compass' representation in the March 31st meeting. They would like to remove Compass from the DALPA structure.

That seems like the plan.

We are represented by people that don't represent us. Now I know it's time for recall of this entire group of yo yos.

Why staple Compass, and not a Comair or Mesaba?

It has been described at length earlier in the thread, but b/c Compass pilots were hired with the expectation of flowing up to NWA (now Delta), and interviewed as such. Additionally, they are represented by our MEC.

The process of stapling them would be much simpler than involving all the animosity and such at Comair... Mesaba being a tad less messy than Comair, but still much more complicated.

Problem is that our MEC is probably going to split them off of our MEC.
