More sad Midwest news...

.
You don't know much about the strike process, do you.

It's really quite simple, your pilot group are enablers. You do the job cheaper so management uses you to leverage us. I agree that there are no job actions that you can perform to stop this now, but let's see what your next contract holds.
When/if released from mediation and an impasse is declared, that may happen. Is this a rhetorical question? Are you really that ignorant about the process for a legal job action?
Don't go there on a jumpseat war and your right, the CA decides, not you. You really are like my annoying younger brother

And BHO wrote Timmay...a waste of postage apparently.
I think 4Q07 (or was it 3Q?) was when they assessed the expenses for the Skywest start-up. Actually, they said Skyway operated at a huge loss because it bought all of the ground support equipment (getting ready for the new mission of Skyway
). I think this grand scheme was budgeted to cost $15M. In classic TH style, he was way off his mark.
I know you RAH'ers don't like facts but......
FACTS
Midwest MADE money from 1Q/2006 up till the acquisition from TPG (3Q 2007). At the time of the acquisition we also had about $170 million in unrestricted cash (this is why AAI's offer included a $170 million cash option). Now they are a private company and can fudge the numbers all they want. From the time of the acquisition till 1Q 2008 I am sure we still made money. We started losing money with oil starting to shoot up in 2008, along with EVERY airline but Allegiant.

If you mean by putting language in that specifically stops what's happened at Midex, built payscales for aircraft that never existed at the time, dropped junior manning while at the same time stopping a whipsaw by uniting all the certificates under one payscale then yes I'm sure with that solid foundation they'll have room to grow.

With over 9000 posts between you two, how do you find the time to fly airplanes? Do you guys whine this much in the cockpit? That's gotta be fun!

You need to get some facts correct. Chautauqua never had junior manning so it was never dropped from the contract. There was only one certificate at the time, Chautauqua, with a threat of starting Republic. The 170s were put on the Chautauqua certificate until APA forced them to start Republic or pay fines. Shuttle America wasn't even in the picture. Pay was definately given up for scope along with numerous other items such as language and scheduling rules. I always thought it wasn't a good idea to put payscales for an aircraft that wasn't even "ordered". There were definate improvements over the previous contract, especially post 9-11, but it was by no means a bar to shoot for.
2) When Chautauqua had the 170's the Shuttle certficate was bought and going to be used for whipsaw. Republic didn't come till after Shuttle.
3) If you don't have some sort of protection against future aircraft you can find yourself in the same situation Midex is currently in. The company introduces one and forces it down your throat.
4) There was a battle to get everything on one seniority list after the purchase of Shuttle.
