After some searching, I found this on the Delta Net - seems it doesn't matter who operates the flight its who marketed it. In a further wrinkle, the ER bubbas will be using the "Northwest XX, Delta colors" callsign while flying a Delta certificated aircraft

NRSA travel on cross fleeted flights

Until the integrated pass program is implemented this summer, flights that are marketed by Northwest (e.g. their seat inventory is managed by Northwest computer systems) will continue to use the current Northwest non-revenue pass policies, and flights that are marketed by Delta (e.g. their seat inventory is managed by Delta computer systems) will continue to use the current Delta non-revenue pass policies. Once the Delta pass system is integrated later this summer, the cross-fleeted flights will be handled similarly to all other flights in the system.

The following are examples of how cross fleeting pass travel policies will be applied during the interim period.

Example 1:

PDX-AMS is a Northwest-marketed flight operated on a pre-merger Delta aircraft with seating inventory managed by Northwest’s computer systems. When this occurs, and until we have an integrated pass program, non-revenue travelers will continue to be boarded using Northwest’s current travel policies. Delta employees traveling on this flight will continue to follow the Fly Together program rules and will board after Northwest employees traveling on this flight – as was the case prior to the aircraft change.

Example 2:

ATL-LGW is a Delta-marketed flight operated on a pre-merger Northwest aircraft with seating inventory managed by Delta’s computer systems. In this case, non-revenue travelers will continue to be boarded using Delta’s current travel policies. Northwest employees traveling on this flight will continue to follow the Fly Together program rules and will board after Delta employees traveling on this flight - as was the case prior to the aircraft change.

acl65pilot--

Because it is a "DL Flight xxx, operated by NWA as NW Flight 9xxx" which is not sold under the NW code.

Just saw something interesting out in the west coast as well:

LAX->TPA NW648 Departs 3-29-09 10pm, arrives 5:25am, A319. Looks like a once a week type of service for now.

I wonder if they'll start doing some more LAX->JFK, or start again our LAX->BOS redeyes. Maybe a new category in LAX, perhaps??

Got ya. They did not change it to a NWA flight, that makes sense.
Sucks, hopefully they will get the pass policy out this week too.

Yeah, we've been doing that one for a month or so. We've also been doing LAS-LAX-LAS.

Speaking of cross fleeting, I guess it is time for the cross dressing to begin.

My wife say's "ewww those wings are Maroon." I agree. They only gave us one pair of wings, so do they go on your shirt, or your jacket?

Before you say "outermost garment" don't most folks take their jackets off ?

You only got one set? I got two, although, I don't think I'll be able to pull off wearing the set of CA wings I got. As for the jacket, you still wearing it? Mine has already been cleaned and put away until October.

No kidding...how many flights/day do we have between LAX-LAS? It's a huge market we used to dominate that naturally fell into the hands of LCCs (SW and AMwst...or usair west, if you prefer) and regional RJs (is that redundant?)...

Anyway, we (DAL, but really Western A.L.) had a 737/727 every hour from 6am to midnight between LAS and LAX...a regular shuttle...just seems like yesterday....22 years ago, after the WAL merger..."I reckon there'll never be times like that again" (quote from Mark Twain's "Roughing It")...and, as DAL mngmt. was inclined to do in those days, slowly gave it all away for very good reason, afterall, it didn't have anything to do with Atlanta..... anyway, good news, -a mainline again between LAX and Vegas! "Happy days are here again!"
