Default Is CAL still Junior Manning?

1 of 147 wondering if CAL is still Junior Manning and right-seating CAPT's to cover the schedule. Thanks in advance for replies.

Face it, it's CAL. We run things thinner than a coked out fashion model. I can pretty much guarantee there will be junior manning before you're back on the property, maybe even some right seat JM captains. Sadly, there'll be a__holes falling all over themselves to do this flying without a care for you and the other furloughees. The good news is that I think we're getting better in this regard. However, don't expect anything different until we're working under another CBA. Remember, contracts are as much to protect pilots from other pilots as they are to protect pilots from the company. Sorry.

On a positive note, I heard a particular fleet manager with initials CP say the Dec system bid will bring all you guys back plus some. I know, rumor mills, but I heard it from a mutual friend of ours who spoke with him today before a flight.

CAL pilots don't have to be junior manned, they pick up open time to get to 100 hours. Most don't care about you. I've been flying with many Captains over age 60 and guys who fly 100+ hours (with deadhead) and ask them about what they think about the guys furloughed or the guys displaced. One said, "Why should I finance their career?" Another said, "Everyone gets furloughed in their career." One said, "I have to make up the cuts I took in the last contract." There are a lot of guys who care about you, I wish it was a majority. I wish the union or the pilots themselves would limit flying and no picking up of open time. You guys would be back on property ASAP. Good luck to you all. I have not gone over min guarantee since the furloughs.

I've heard all the above quotes from "£$holes, and what's funny is most of them are scabs that have never been furloughed at all. I agree with Ottopilot on all things said above, but I believe that a majority of the pilots care about the furloughed, and things will keep getting better as the 83-85 crowd and the like minded move on.
