RB,

You know, I don't know Oscar, personally, but I know a lot of folks who know him, personally. Not sure it that made sense or not, but I got it. I think alot of him. He has always been straight with us and you seem like a smart ass. Hope all finds us well.

RB, I actually know Oscar and am a friend and trust him (so much for your statement). It's not that he can't 'get in on it', its that he chooses not to because there are actually some of us dinosaurs left around who understand words like honor and integrity. I do not agree with Oscar on the TA vote but I certainly appreciate his perspective and respect his opinion. You on the other hand sir, I can find no purpose. Those comments just earned you a 'no grade' pass. Perhaps you should change your screen name to Clara Ball, or Ramp Strike.

Default Very brief thread hijack . . .

My question is not really worth starting a whole new thread, so please pardon the brief interruption.

For any SWA Captain or FO: I am currently swimming in the pool - my wife and I are looking at relocating back out west to either Las Vegas or Phoenix. (We currently live in Chicago - winter is too oppressive here) When hiring resumes, I assume Oakland and Las Vegas will be the most junior bases for new hires.

My question is this, how senior is Phoenix for FO's? When hiring resumes at a reasonable pace, how long do you think it would take to be able to bid for Phoenix as a newbie FO? Any best guesses are appreciated.

Thank you everyone for the brief detour.

OAK is the most Junior. LAS and PHX are next in line. How long to wait is of course the million dollar question that no one can really accurately say. I will guess that there are several guys (25? 50? Who really knows) who are in OAK that want to be back east. When we start growing again (Some say we're up to 300 pilots overmanned), a lot of the junior FO's will flow east through LAS and PHX as they try to make their way to Texas, Chicago, Orlando, and Baltimore.

Based on the seniority projector I just looked at on the SWAPA website, there's a pretty good chance that you'll get PHX right after OAK. Being a betting man, I'd say after 3-4 classes.

Default Patch . . .

Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make a best guess and looking at the seniority projector on the SWAPA website. I really appreciate your help.

We enjoy living in Chicago - it really is a great city. But neither of us have family here. Winters are long and cold. We both just want to move back west.

I know it could a while before new classes start running again. But we are ready to go the minute that phone rings!

Thanks again.
