Plane landed safely. Very good job to the crew and all involved. Again, thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the deceased.

CA's name being released on the News Channels, well, ABC anyway.

I am watching FOX also and I never heard them say the flight number. They do seem like they are trying to respect the family that probably haven't been notified yet.

It is scary when our media reporting style and stories are similar to the tabloids. I don't think any celebrities personal lives should ever hit national news. It is ridiculous!

great, FOX has some clowns who happen to be pilots, he is talking about landing in "The soup" I want to throw up

They also mentioned the flight number numerous times

I've got about 2000 hours of single seat jet time. Believe it or not you CAN fly and talk on the radio at the same time.

Agree that the media is out of control on this. What a crappy way for the family to find out. Surely this can be tightened up. Wonder how it got out? Someone monitoring ATC I guess? I seem to recall from the school house (ops manual brief) that no one ever "dies" on an airplane... They just are just non responsive or "appear" to be dead.

Not to make light of the families loss and crews situation......Prayers for them.

Yeah, by the time I pressed enter, it had been stated a few times. They didn't initially.
