I'd like to read what he thinks about UAL increasing express flying while at the same time kicking UAL pilots to the street. (Aside from the old "it was the previous administration that did this to you" bs.)

You may as well bend over now for Tilton, with all this anti-union sentiment there is nothing stopping him from out-sourcing all the jobs. Until the UAL pilots develop the unity necessary to legally shut the place down, don’t expect any great changes.
I wouldn’t denigrate the express pilots, it may be in your future, although, you can make more money as a manager at Burger King.

I think it stinks, but it was the tree huggers who gave away the 50 seat RJ in 1997 that started us down the slippery slope. The unionist saw the problems, but the ignorant and dumb were saying, “Do you want to fly wide-bodies or RJs?” Or, “I came here to fly the heavy metal not those little jets.” How about, “the company can’t afford to pay the RJ employees mainline pay.” Take your pick. The pilots simply caved to management and voted to give them away, with little concern for the brothers that would follow them. The ESOP ran the union professionals out and put the amateurs in. It was the last opportunity to control our destiny. You are now suffering from with consequences of that one fateful decision.

1. I did my time at the commuters. They are not in my future. Unfortunately, senior UAL pilots (and I include you in this group) are doing all they can to save their precious little asses and ensure UAL is not in my future either. Lets start by not denigrating the bottom of the seniority list mister.

Unfortunately, the union can do nothing when jobs are going away, either because of the economic cycle or some nefarious plan of Tilton. If you think everyone should take a pay cut to keep you from furlough, ask yourself how much should that be, 10%, 25%, 50%? Where do you draw the line, who gets to stay and who has to go? Just like the non-union world, when your job is gone, you are gone.

You sound like an angry young man, I have to laugh, 30 years ago I was you. The junior vs senior is a perennial complaint, nothing new. What is true, with age and experience the senior pilots have learned that it is in their best interests to be informed and participate in their union. You guys will eventually catch on, you are already well represented by some very bright young people who refrain from whining about how bad their life and careers have turned out.

First let me say you can cast aspersions about my integrity, you are entitled to your opinion. However, the flip side of that is that I am also entitled to an opinion about you. From what I can read of your postings you are much more suited for the confines of the ALPA forum rather than the general population here at APC. I would highly recommend you return to YOUR forum and the perhaps 15 other fringe group that share your opinions. Of course with that forum being suspended due to a “virus”, you are left to try and perpetuate your skewed logic in a group that is not as myopic as those in the ALPA forum.

If the above quote is true, then you must be quite upset about ALPA’s decision to not represent the entire pilot population's wishes in the decision to support Age 65. ALPA polled its members in a straight up and down vote and the majority did not want this change. Also, if the group’s wishes are to be heard, then why did we not get a vote on the suspension of trip trade with open flying?
A good example of our poor leadership is in the 550 million note. You are trying to spin that the company merely gave ALPA 550 million to create divisions within our ranks. Let me share some reality with you.
This from side letter 05-01 Bankruptcy letter of Agreement:
7. Convertible Notes. In the event that the A Plan is terminated pursuant to 29
U.S.C §1341 or §1342 following judicial approval of such termination, the Revised 2003 Pilot
Agreement and the Plan of Reorganization shall provide for the issuance of $550 million of UAL
convertible notes, as described in Exhibit D to this Letter of Agreement, to a trust or other entity
designated by the Association. The terms of the UAL convertible notes described in Exhibit D
shall be subject to mutually-acceptable modifications to optimize implementation for all parties
from an accounting, securities law and tax law perspective.
What you are implying is that ALPA did not agree and or sign this side letter. That is quite an allegation. Surely you must have something along the lines of proof to refute the written side letter. Your allegation that Uncle Glenn dropped 550 Mil on the floor is not exactly accurate. What is accurate is that ALPA negotiated a side letter, received 550 Mil and proceeded to gerrymander the funds.
As a Wallach loyalist, the revisionist history you are attempting to create is filled with gaping holes. The pilot group is smarter than you give them credit for. As others have posted here, this is not the first rodeo for many. Unlike the 570 and some of the other factions at UAL that had minimal qualifications when they were hired. The pilots that I fly with hired in the past 15 years have backgrounds and experience far superior to the “senior” pilots like yourself. For me I was one of the fortunate previous airline castaways that landed here. I have sat next to enough of the current senior pilots to know how many of them lack flying skills and common sense. Your postings only serve to confirm what I have already seen first hand.
