those are some of the reasons guys will still go to the majors. We are a regional airline, not a carrer destination airline. wake up. |

True, I was meaning 10 monts since the whole union vote got put out to the pilots till our new pay rates are in our paychecks. I doubt we would have seen a CBA in less time.
No need to clarify Mike. You were trying to sugar coat the deal and that was blatantly obvious the first time! |

really??? even with the new pay and work rules you really think guys are gonna still leave to go where? I have two friends in the SW pool here and even they said they probably will not go now.
I'm swimming in a pool and as soon as I get tossed the life ring, I'll be out of this dive. Some poor soul can take my place, they just better prepare themselves for dissapointment, or look it as a "major-regional" job that is great until you can land a gig at a REAL major airline. Unless you're a top seniority BUS CA this place is simply a stepping stone and it's a stepping stone with no protection from any UNION. Hold all the value committee elections you want, I'll take a CBA any day. Please vote next time around. 646 |

I'm thinkin' they'll go to a real airline that flys real mainline aircraft, for real mainline rates. These airlines have real employment protection, real health insurance, real captains authority, and are really treated like the professionals we are.

Given their experience level, I think anyone looking to move to another major has a very good chance of doing so when things turn around. JJ |

To make it clear we do have a contract, each person has an individual contract with the company, we just dont have a CBA and/or a union. And yes we will see our retro pay in the Oct 20th paycheck. And the union was voted down because the pilots felt managment was telling the truth when they said they will fix the pay and work rules, and so far they are keeping to there word, 10 months later we have industy average pay on the 320 and Industry Leading pay on the E190, and more and better work rules to go with it. And every pilot knew that if they did not keep to there word and fix it they could always vote in a union next year. I am personaly very glad the way the prosses has taken shape, because if the union would have been voted in we would have been locked in to our old payrates and work rules until we had a CBA and that could have taken years, this way we have the new pay and work rules and if we choose to vote in a union next year we will be locked into these new rates and rules while the CBA negotiations go on.
All I was saying was don't expect retro w/o a contract (CBA), they didn't have to agree with that at all. You guys and gals are getting retro and I think that is a fantastic thing. It is also good to see JB mgt seems to have integrity, a trait most mgt's do not. |
Hi!
I'm thinkin' they'll go to a real airline that flys real mainline aircraft, for real mainline rates. These airlines have real employment protection, real health insurance, real captains authority, and are really treated like the professionals we are. How about this? I have a freind at NWA, who said, a while back, obviously, that while NWA was OK, I should go somewhere better like DAL. Then, a DAL friend told me I should not apply there, as it was terrible, and I should go somewhere good like CAL. One of my friends at CAL told me he wishes he had stayed at NetJets. One of my friends at NetJets is leaving for another flying job. Another guy said Allegiant was awful. Another that Cathay was terrible. On the web I have read numerous guys saying that Emirates is horrible, and then a bunch of Qatar guys saying that their airline is terrible, and Emirates is way better. So, where do we go to find a great "Career" place again? Maybe if you are happy, then you will like your current job pretty well, and if you are always complaining, you will always complain, not matter where you work. Oh, and that reminds me, I have heard from PLENTY of UPS and FedEx guys about how terrible their jobs are! cliff NBO PS-I like my job pretty well, and JetBlue would be 10 times better, at least! No more 150+ day trips! |
