Personally, I've never had a problem with AA crews OR agents when it comes to jumpseating. In fact, I recently showed up VERY late (15 min prior to push) and asked the agent if he had time to process me, fully expecting him to say no.
He basicly jumped through his butt to get me on the flight.
My thanks to all the AA folks.

SJU and USVI are not considered intl for the jumpseat. I just had the pleasure of riding them from SJU and back to STT this weekend. Both great flights with great crews. The flight atteendant on my SJU flight may have been the nicest flight attendant I have ever met. I had already been assigned a seat by the gate agent earlier and she saw me waiting to board. She pointed to me and told me to wait for her to board. While we were waiting for a few passengers we were chatting at the gate. She told me she would take care of me and she did. Got first class to BOS. One of the best jumpseating experiences of my life.

I can say the same thing. The best and worst were only separated by one week for me. I can say I have had more positive than negative experiences with AA. I can also say that I have had more bad experiences with AA than everyone else combined. I have never had an unpleasant experience with AA crew, always ticket/gate agents.
