Apparently everyone forgot that major airlines controlled their scope, negotiated it away and the contracts were ratified by their own membership.

As for the RJ guys taking a job flying a jet with 250 hours of experience, I don't blame them. Who of us wouldn't have taken that job? Back then ATP mins were required to get hired and I would have sure flown an RJ and built seniority towards 121 PIC that I needed to get a major job instead of flight instructing.

It is a problem WE created and it is a problem only WE can fix.

Well, not yet. With 4,200 mile range in some configurations the airplane will do it. They even gave the ATR ETOPS Certification.

What were we thinking?

Your point was very poorly scripted, as you failed to mention any of that. You did however, make an attack on RAH without any merit or contect. You could have said, "I hope the flying doesn't go to Mesa, Colgan, AWAC, Transtates, RAH, ect.," but you didn't. In the future, when you have no point, don't make a baseless comment.
And I'm sorry to hear of your furough. I've been through many, and they suck.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not attacking RJ guys as much as I'm attacking RJ guys attacking RAH. It's completely comical to hear an RJ guy making baseless statements on an issue he/she knows nothing of. We've all done stuff to gain hours, but having a superiorty complex while doing so is absolutely obsurd.

Condolences to those at US Airways.

It took one reply to turn this into RAH bashing when it is only info about US Airways. Com'on back on topic!

Oh righto forgot about that, and the other 35 mil we gave ya, we'll just call that one even, thanks buddy. Don't be ****ed that I'm flying an RJ, tighten up your scope so I have a chance to get a job at Cactus. Stop trying to play the blame game and lets work together to get it all back. I would LOVE to fly a B1900, but that's not in the cards.

I never noticed your "Jesus hates the Yankees" thing. We'll agree on that much. I don't work for US Airways. I'm just tired of hearing people bash RAH for no reason at all. This whole thread was intended to be about US Airways, but the first comment posted was a hit on RAH. I just don't get one regional guy bashing another group, when both guys are flying what was once mainline routes. Say what you want, but there's nothing regional about a three hour flight on an RJ, regardless of who's flying it. I agree about what you said regarding the scope clauses and the 1900s also, but the damage has already been done and is getting worse with the creation of 70, 86 and 99 seat "regional" jets.

People obviously just can't help themselves.

Back on topic of USAirways....

Regarding Europe flying, out of PHL, the following cities are have their services suspended: BHX, LGW, MXP, SNN, ARN, due to not being profitable. BRU and ZRH will become seasonal.

Also, PHL to PEK route authority being given back to DOT.

Unfortunate.

The real interesting thing will be what the judge has to say about furloughs out of seniority order.
