Funny comment on the news article;

The Flight Attendants had a duty to contact the pilots when the plane failed to begin its descent at the scheduled time -- The strict hierarchy of the airline industry, which can be intimidating, has contributed to countless preventable airline catastrophes. Flight Attendants need to step up!!! The Flight Attandants on this flight were equally negligent in failing to contact the crew, and they also should lose their jobs, for dereliction of their responsibilities. They're not there just to serve you orange juice."

Yay I'm so proud to be minnesotan!

I guess the junior senator needs to show his constituents he's worth it!

Back on topic - Cockpit video recorders = a bad idea. For the cops, it gets ppl fired all the time and I don't know why we would want to subject ourselves to that. However as already mentioned; if this happens, it won't be in place for a long time.

When doctors, lawyers and congress have cameras in their offices I will welcome one in mine...............

Yeah I thought not.

Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in the people who makes these laws for us are not drug tested at all, or given a alcohol test before a vote..... I'm just saying, when they have the same level of "safety monitoring" at their job I will accept cameras at mine.

cameras on board, great! I can finally have a place to hang my coat! What's next? A lie detector hooked up to my hand while flying? Or even better, metal prongs attached to the earlobes to zap us when they see us dozing off through the camera!

They better not put cameras in Air Force C-17s and 130s. The toga parties and nude landings will be all the rage.

Based on everything I've read here I think an immediate solution would be to disable autopilot on all domestic flights, this way the pilots have no choice but to be alert.

Say goodbye then to RVSM and hello to altitude and course deviations.
