We've had this discussion before. But it seems this must be asked again: can you not hold altitude/heading/course/airspeed without the Autopilot?? I sure the heck can. Silly argument it is. Give it a rest and stop denigrating our professional skills, Tin...!

Quotes like this are wreckless to our profession.
This guy is full of it. He might be an Eagle pilot but not an AA pilot. He has ATR type ratings, a Lear type, and an A320 type not one of which AA flies.

Climbing and descending you can handfly to your heart's (or ground-pounder newspaper reader's) content.
Sorry but no...check Part 91 App G. Common misconception (why? I thought pilots should want to find excuses to fly an airplane), but at least one "automatic altitude control system" must be available. NOT in use. If you haven't hand-flown at altitude, you probably ought to...it is irresponsible to spend so much time in cruise in this thin air and have not the faintest clue as to how the aircraft handles. Throw in some mountain-wave activity and I guarantee you you'll find a healthy respect for the skill required.

Just my opinion, of course.
Really? Would you actually go to work if there was a camera smiling back at you?? ::expletive deleted:: no I wouldn't. That is beyond ridiculous, and won't ever happen...or I'm out.

I'm certain that threat will bring the FAA to their knees.

As I said, one man's opinion.

I think pilots could agree to cameras if the Doctors, teachers, politicians, law enforcement and lawyers agree to being on camera every minute they are on the job.

By the way, we will agree to not making any of the filmed or recorded media available to the public. These professions are responsible for the short and long term physical and mental health of those that are in their charge.

The agreement to use recordings of pilots included the guarantee that only the safety investigators would have access to the same.

This promise was almost, er, pretty much, er, usually, er, except for a good reason, er.......... Of course ALPA backed this up, er they did not. The agreement for safety investigation, need to know basis, was continually compromised.

If all professions agree, pilots should also, no other exceptions. There are many examples of voice recordings made public, this is just one example.

Check out the other voice recordings available on the web to the right of the web page. Do not trust the promises of those basta.. who want the camera.

Cameras should not be allowed, nationwide shutdown, if they try to push it.
