Default Will Republic Teamsters support Midwest pilot

from Midwest MEC fastread...

Interim Furlough Recall Proposal
This week, in addition to the selection of the mediator and arbitrator, we also sent another letter to the managements, Merger Committees, attorneys, and union representatives of the other parties. In it we request, yet again, that, apart from and with no impact on the full seniority integration process, we agree to create interim furlough recall lists. We have proposed that recall lists be created for both Republic and Frontier by dovetailing the Midwest seniority list with the separate Republic and Frontier furlough lists based on date of hire. Since both Republic and Frontier have stated they intend to recall furloughs in early 2010, and since the need for both the Republic and the Frontier recalls is because they are replacing us on Midwest flying, it seems only right that we should be allowed to participate in that flying without being further penalized. We did not receive any answer to our earlier letter. Hopefully, this time will be different.

Will Republic Teamsters support the integration rights of Midwest pilots or not?

Maybe. However, there's little you, I or anybody on this board can do to help or hinder the process. Next topic...

I'm sure Republic pilots hope the industry will forget the actions of their union.

Republics EXCO needs to get out of bed with Republic management.

Support the legal integration rights of Midwest pilots. Write a LOA to help integrate the pilots you replaced... it's the fair thing to do.

Very interesting....Is DOH now viable for regional and "mainline" in this instance? This will set a new standard for "career expectations" and future merger arbitrations...A new paradigm is being set....

I guess since your asking for date of hire, (a windfall for the Midwest pilots) my guess would be no.

So, why are you only calling out the original RAH guys and Teamsters?

Also, reference the 13b agreement. That's the set time line agreed to by the unions for integration.

Certain rules and guidelines need to be met. The process has begun. Trust me, IBT EXCO and RAH management are not in bed.

to answer the OP's question, my guess is no.

personally i'm currently a CHQ furlough, and would prefer they call you guys back as i'm not ready to get back or sure if i ever will.

the problem is see is that despite the fact that the midwest name currently exists, although only as a ghost airline, i do not see that being the long term plan here. my gut tells me the midwest acquisition complemented by the frontier was done with the intention of the midwest name slowly disappearing and the frontier name sticking around. while that is a half @ssed answer and rather incomplete i do not feel like delving too deep into the topic, unfortunately the wheels are already in motion and us pilots are not the one pulling these strings.

once again there is something bigger and fishier going on here and i just dont see any union agreeing to this with all the uncertainty in this whole process.

MD, instead of continually trying to fan the flames, you should ask ALPA why they drug their heels and did nothing for you before the certificate went away.

Instead, you keep flaming the RAH pilots and their leadership. You alone make a perfect case for someone who will get fed up and say to hell with you.

Gotta wonder why you are so intent on trying to screw your fellow Midwest pilots. Whose side are you REALLY on?

I agree. If you feel a need to vent and this is the only place for you to do so, go ahead, I feel sorry for you. But this is not a place where you are going to start a revolution with RAH and Midwest against the tyranny of Bedford and Heller. I am willing to bet that less than 1% of both pilot groups actually look at this board on a daily basis.
