Default Republic Pilots, The Revolution Begins...

Just got a phone call tonight. Apparently the Teamsters are not too happy with the uproar within the pilot group. They have threatened 150 pilots who have been outspoken about our RIGHT to representation in support of our WRONGFULLY terminated Captain and First Officer. These threats have included fining the pilots with outrageous sums of money, and then having those pilots terminated on grounds of "Not withstanding Union Member." All because comments have been made about holding an election to remove the IBT and hold a vote for new representation.

It is no secret that our own Union is robbing us, not only of our money but the representation we PAY for. The Teamsters is forgetting one very important thing - THEY WORK FOR US. WE PAY THEIR SALARY. If they think they are going to threaten our jobs and our livelyhood, they have got another thing coming to them. If these threats come to each member personally, or they come to fruition, the IBT, along with each of its EXCO members, will be presented with a Federal Law suit from the Department of Labor on behalf of those pilots threatened.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. If you are a Republic Airways Pilot, NOW is the time to stand united with your pilot group and your fellow coworkers. We will not let the unjust actions that occured to our 8 year Captain, J. ,go unpunished. I don't care whether you think the Teamsters do anything for you or not, what they are doing is ILLEGAL an IMMORAL. It is time to stand behind your fellow brother on the line.

Regardless of what Union representation you want at this company, stand behind us to rid this company of the IBT. We can not do this without your support, and without your support, 150 pilots will surely go down fighting. We want a vote to decertify the Teamsters.

This is the turning point in our pilot group. I am a junior pilot here, but there are countless Republic brothers much senior to me that are rising up to fight for this pilot group and I stand behind them 100%. Please do not let them down, please do not let us down.

Spread the word, because the revolution is coming, either you're in or your out. And don't worry about ILLEGAL threats from the Teamsters, one more threat and we take this entire case to the media, including the Department of Labor and the NMB.

Go to Republicpilots.org and voice your opinion. Thank you!

You've gotta be kidding me. I have my own opinions about IBT, but airing this on a public forum read by the whole free world is retarded. Take it back to RP.org and get your support there.

Teamsters are a bunch of crooks and a worthless organization. It makes ALPA look like Jesus. Well maybe that's a little extreme. But they have no idea what it is that they are doing in the airline industry. Personally I opted out of being a part of this union when they represented a company I worked for.

Good luck guys!!

Airdale,
jusy by reading the lastest on rp.org (mostly that posted by ZH) i would guess this is going to die quickly. I would be for throwing out the union, however, sadly as the union has not done its job I am one who is out of a job (and close to $500 poorer in dues, initialtion fees and "counsel fee") after less than 8 months online. What a waste and the union is one of several reasons i will happily "bypass" any recall that happens to come my way.

Sharky,
We have every right to come to this public forum and make some noise for our cause just like everyone else. If you dont want to hear about it dont click it.

It has been known throught many years that teamsters are a corrupt organization. I does not surprise me at all their attitude. What does surprise me more is that there is still pilot groups represented by them. all they care is for the money they can get from their members and any side deals they can cut with management under the table. Not to much difference from other unions but a least others unions will stand for their members when rainning days comes.

I think it'd be easier to contact the republic pilots by going to republicpilots.org don't you think? You are speaking pretty strong on behalf of a lot of people without their consent. Might want to think twice. There are ways to go about things and this isn't it. He's a 5yr CA by the way. Who are these 150 guys you're talking about? The furloughs? I'm wondering who you are and how long you've been with the company as this seems like a rant put together after a very brief reading of several posts at the same time. A little piece from each post misconstrued into one story of yours. Check your facts first before trying to take something to the streets. No one here has any say over anything that happens. No reason to bring it here.

Say what you will about the content of Airdale's post, but it seems as if it's getting dangerous to post anything negative on RP.org these days. I don't know about 150, but I wouldn't be surprised if 5-10 guys get fined from what they've posted. If Soda Machine Gene does decide to lawyer up and go after some of these guys, I think a medium like this would certainly be a tool in rallying support.

A medium like this? That's exactly what RP.org is. A private site where all post are only intended for those pilots who are members.
